Akron was the surprise last year, Kent State & Ohio are this year.

Consistent, sustained success is the mark of a solid program.
Who's to say Kent won't be next years Akron, a surprise team that falls off the map the next year? This will be only their second winning season in 20 years. I noticed their coach said they played 15 true freshmen last year and that their maturation has been the key to their success. Humm, I wonder which MAC team has played 15 true freshmen this year?
Meanwhile, Ohio has the same number of conference wins as BG, lost to them at home and suddenly they get crowned as a "surprise"? I suppose when absolutely nothing is expected out of you, anything remotely positive is surprising.
These Johnny-come-latelys need to prove they can sustain it for more than a year and endure the challenges of top teams (coaching change, player departures) before they can be considered anything more than a fluke.

That's because I'm looking at the conference standings. How does it feel to already be out of the MAC race by the way, because we wouldn't know.

A) We're not out of anything.
B) You have 45 years worth of knowing how it feels. Any pointers?

How much Kitty Litter Crow can one little kitty eat?? This race is far from over. Seems you don't recall what happened last season? Oh wait, you would have been staring at a 4-7 record again and out of the race. OU has a good team, what, once every 30 years?

You wouldn't know a MAC race if it bit ya in the azz...or a bowl game...or a MAC title...or a Top 25 ranking...or a win over BG.
21-9
38-14
41-16
72-21
17-0
35-21-2 = BG leads all time series. How's that for scoreboard?
As badly as I want Kent to lose, if they kick OU's ass, I won't feel all that bad!

I think the biggest suprise I've seen so far this year is that there are currently no MAC teams in ESPN's Bottom Ten (Unless you count Temple).
