This is only my first post here, but I would like to be the first to throw Omar's name into the Heisman race...

kyle orton, 144-217, 1877 yards, 19 TDs, 3 INTs

omar jacobs, 148-213, 1811 yards, 18 TDs, 2 INTs.

OMAR FOR HEISMAN!!!

Omar is definately putting up Heisman numbers but this year that talk isn't realistic. I expect that is Omar keeps playing this well he will be involved in Heisman debates from day 1.

Change out Temple for someone like Texas AM and beat them...

Change out your I-AA opponent for a WAC or Mountain West opponent and beat them

Go undefeated or with one loss..

and hope to all hell there are very few good qb's at top notch programs and Omar will be invited to New York.

And a stat that often goes unnoticed, he has only been sacked two times!

Over the next two years we do switch out those games for the likes of Wisconsin, Wyoming, Boise State. We still play Temple next year, but the other OOC opponents are a step up from SEMO.

Ive been saying that for years. WE can at least find a bottom tier 1-A school to play over any 1-AA team and its better. Even if its really a worse team, and 1-A is better than any 1-AA.

I think what 'skins was trying to say is that Big Ben was overlooked Big Time. It is very hard to compete with the bigger programs when it comes to awards.

wow, that is a disgusting picture for your screen name mualum...

and i was actually just making a tongue in cheek post about omar. this kid is really good and will contend for the heisman before he's done. and not like the joke contention josh had his senior year...

omar is the real deal. and by the way, i saw him in the union the other day and the guy is friggin' huge. just think what he will become after a couple more years in the gym. i wouldn't be surprised to see him become a daunte culpepper in the right system come NFL time....

That is a 'beeyootiful' pic. It's a helmet from the 70's. (You are probably too young to have ever seen a real one.)
With regard to Omar, I hope he does get better and is a contender for the Heisman. I like to see MAC players do well and move on to the next level. I am looking forward to watching him dismantle the Western Michigan secondary in a couple weeks!
