Many good points made freak. It's nice to hear a calm voice of reason that can actually elocute some positives. Sometimes I wish I were more naturally optimistic, but that's why people like you are needed. Thanks for keepin the faith.

J4H,
Thanks, man. I appreciate the kind words. Faith can be a tough deal when things aren't going your way. Ya gotta have it, ya gotta believe. Ask George Michael. LOL!

Right on Freak!
Brandon bleeds Orange and Brown like many on this board. He wants to win as much as anyone. Most of us remember when he had the chance to jump ship and take another HC job which paid alot more money than this one. Guess what he stayed, because he loves BG and he wants to build something special here.
I remember when Corey and I first got here. He was all fired up about getting to and winning a bowl game. And then getting a contract extension because he wants to be here. That extension was his security and his chance to put long term plans into place. His last two recruiting classes have been excellant. He has brought in some very good athletes, some haven't worked out but that is to be expected. Some make it and some don't.
Your right when you say we don't know what goes on in the program on a daily basis. I have a son on the team and I don't have a clue what they are doing day to day. Actually its not really my business to get that deeply involved.
Coach did a great job this past week. After losing to Temple and being dragged thru the news about breaking their losing streak. He really got this team going. They could have just mailed in the rest of the season and no one would have really blamed them. But Brandon had them ready to play last Saturday. I saw an effort level that surprized me, those players really wanted to win that game.
I expect to see a similar effort for our last two games of the season. These guys have not quit and they will fight with everything they have left to try and get these last two wins. The pieces are in place for a great future, lets give them all our support.
Go Falcons! Go Brandon!

BG didn't have a bye in the season....I challenge anyone to find another team out there that didn't have a bye until this late in the year.

Actually I think with the late addition of the 12th game there have been quite a few teams that have had to play without bye weeks. I'm not positive, but I think it is the case this year.
As for the rest, I just got a chance to read it. Good stuff, about what I expect outta you Freak

I would just like to say that I don't think being a Brandon supporter and rooting for his ouster are mutually exclusive.
I support the guy as long as he is our coach. I want him to do well as much as anyone. I want to be dead wrong on everything I've ever said negative about him. I want him to lead BG to MAC Championships, and sign a long term extension and be a great head coach for a decade or two. Those things would all be much easier than going out and trying to find that next perfect head coach. I do support him. And I have talked to him in the past, he is a very good guy. I love the fact that he'll call up Norm Wamer and talk on the radio live...Amstutz doesn't do that, and no coach is obligated to, it's great that he does. I do not doubt one bit that he wants to win more than any of us, and he wants to succeed more than any of us want him to succeed. To us this is our football team, something we follow for fun; for him it is his livelihood.
My problem is that I just don't like what I see from him as a coach. Ya'll know that so I won't rehash it here. I just wanted to make it known that I do not like the terms Brandon Supporters versus Brandon Bashers. I try not to mindlessly bash anyone; I prefer the term thoughtfully criticize.
I wish I could be as optimistic about the future as you are, but I have not seen what I wanted to see this season. Hopefully the future will prove me wrong & you right, because your version of it sounds like a helluva lot more fun than mine!

in the article it says "I challenge anyone to find another team out there that didn't have a bye until this late in the year."
Purdue plays 13 straight games this season, without a bye week! They also dont get to have one of those mid-week games either so that there is 9-10 days before their next game! Oh and they also play a tough schedule and make many trips out of state including Hawaii! No one around here is making those excuses for them!
I agree with most of the article is a whole, but this making excuses stuff isn't for me, especially the part about not having a bye week!!!

Fair enough! I didn't know Purdue played every week. My error.
Hammb,
I always welcome your point of view as well. You're a true Falcon fan and we all just want a kick ass team and program.

Good thoughts there, freak. Love to see and read your passion for BG football. hamm also is a true fan. He loves the Falcons. Your viewpoints are different, but I am always encouraged by passion for our school and our teams.
I think we will know a lot more by the evening of November 21. We are on national TV- twice. We play teams who are mediocre. I watched Toledo and NIU sleepwalk- for long periods- in the fog last night. I didn't see much fire out there. We need to play with fire. We need to play like we have two more games- and that's it- for ten seniors. We need to play for our future. We need to play for each other. We need to play over issues- some real, some imagined or shared by many teams. Injuries? Check Miami. Schedule? Check several of our opponenets. Youth? Check Temple. We need to play hard (and, if possible, well) on ALL THREE sides of the ball for once this year- off, def, special t. We need to turn ourselves loose- in the coaches' box and on the field. Let's play with pure passion- and execute the gameplan we have in place for each opponent with focus and intensity.
Let's run, hit, fly to the ball and have fun. On TV. Twice. If flying hard and high means we give something up long or don't complete the pass off the double reverse, so what? We are 4-6. Let's go get it. These are rivalry games against teams who are down. Let's win, baby.
Now, get to the Miami game. Take the next day off. Do what it takes. Find $140 and buy 20 tickets- if you are in any sort of position to do so. Don't complain about small details or handling fees or screw ups by somebody "in the athletic dept"- gee whiz, get behind the program. Many opinions are expressed- and rightly so- but, right now, it is- get our last home game- and kick some Redskin/hawk behind.
Don't open the locker room door. Run through it.
Go Falcons!

EXCELLENT post, FF1! You make a good point about not complaining about little percieved "screw ups," too. People so easily forget that our AD, comparatively, is running on a shoestring budget and still trying to compete with the big-budget programs. Sure, there are going to be some minor confusions every now and then, but realizing that the people in the AD are working hard and that we need to support our FALCONS, in my mind, greatly diminishes all of that.
BEAT THE REDHAWKS!!!

Great post ff1! I am taking a half day off for both MU and that school up north to attend the games. Wouldn't miss them for the world. Taking Josh outta school early for the MU game. It's a "field trip". LOL!!
"Don't open the locker room door. Run through it."
THAT says it all right there. Let that be the team motto from now on...Man's Law! LOL

Definitely a cool quote FF1!
Which got me wondering... since the students are sitting on the East side for the Miami(OH) game anyway... what is the setup like down below from the lockerroom to the tunnel? Is there just a side door? Or do the players walk out and around the corner? If there's space, it would be cool to have students packing the area outside the locker room door and going nuts as soon as the doors open up and the team comes out.
