I think I read some where that Georgia is also looking for a game in week 1 next year. I would love to head down there to take in an SEC game.

I vote for South Carolina or Clemson. Heck I'd settle for Georgia Tech or Georgia
Or even Duke or North Carolina.

A payday game @ Georgia would be awesome.

Louisville would be awesome, but they have built their program to the point they are no longer looking for easy victories. Our program has fallen to the point that we would be considered an easy victory. I don't think Louisville would want to schedule us.
It would be a sweet experience though...it's only a few hours drive and they have an awesome new stadium.

Frankly...I'd rather see a 1AA at the Doyt than take another road trip. We can't keep playing more road games than home games...

I agree. People on here have pooh-poohed at 1AA games, but despite the die hard football fan's annoyance the games make sense.
I just keep thinking back to SEMO a couple years ago, great day, great crowd, and a good result. The casual fan doesn't care if we are playing Southeast Missouri State or Missouri. A home game is more important to the development of a football team and fan base than the paycheck we'd be getting by going against a big boy.

I-AA does nothing to enhance the reputation of the program if you want to be big time, big time programs schedule big games against big opponents.

Seeing as Duke now has the longest losing streak in IA, I am sure they would love to schedule us.

Bill Snyder took the absolute worst program in Division I-A and build a pretty reputable program by playing cupcakes 1A teams (see us in 1997) and 1AA at home in Manhattan. His teams were infamous for playing a packed home schedule of patsies.
I think we need to build our fan base right now (students, townies, alums and the like) and you do that by playing at home.

An even schedule with 6 home and 6 away makes the most sense to me. That being said, You have to beat the best to be the best. I don't want 1-AA here unless it's an in-state school like Dayton or YSU.

I know it's been discussed before, but who's confirmed for 2007.
Is the Pitt game out? Boise and FIU might back out of home & home's? How can they really "back out" of these agreements anyway?
I'm baffled that most teams have their entire schedules pretty much confirmed a year in advance and we don't really have a single OOC game set in stone.

We have them set in stone... we just schedule teams with sandblasters that like to use them. As was mentioned earlier, we either need to boost the penalties for backing out, or get the game at the Doyt out of the way first.

A game against Youngstown would be AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I went to an offensive line camp there my sophomore year of high school, one of the best experiences of my life!
