UCF....Goodbye, and Good Riddance

Post by bgmaggot00 »

After all of that hype and controversy that they started back in 2002 when they popped into our conference, I'd like to officially say goodbye to those Arrogant SOB's, and I do not wish them well. At least they achieved their goal of joining a "major" conference within 5 years. Get out, and Stay out....Check out this link from 2002 if you need a reminder of why they pissed me off when they began here.

Well, after 2 1/2 years here, they've compiled an "impressive" record of 10-17 (8-11 MAC). Go Home UCF, and stay there. Jeff

They definitely have not made any impact on the the MAC and will not do any better anywhere else. We will be better off without them.

Oh, I don't know about that, Orinthologist. I believe as the team stands right now, they would do very well in the new C-USA.

The least UCF could have done for us was beat NIU two weeks ago when they blew a great opportunity! :x

I almost feel like UCF was never even in the MAC since we didn't even play them as a MAC opponent. That's kind of weird, and one of the things I do not like about large conferences.

But it is nice seeing UCF leave the MAC with it's tail between its legs! So much for dominating the MAC.....

Maybe but with Marshall moving there too (and maybe turdledo eventually), they have no chance at winning big there. I can't see them beating Louisville, UAB, or even Southern Miss unless they are having really bad seasons. That will already put them at .500 or below for conference play and that my friend will get them no where.

Louisville is heading to the Big Easy..err east. I think they will do better there than they did in the MAC, since the competition is a lot worse.

Can we really say that the C-USA is worse than the MAC?

C-USA's conference occupies the following ranking spots:

12, 28, 36, 47, 72, 75, 77, 88, 91, 96, 101

The MAC occupies the following:

45, 59, 60, 63, 69, 76, 106, 107, 108, 109, 112, 113, 116, 117.

Face it...This year, the MAC is the basement dweller. The competition is better in C-USA this year. Therefore, I doubt UCF would be doing any better than they are doing in the MAC.

Well I do not take much stock in those rankings. What are those CFN? I am pretty sure that those rankings are compiled based on the opinions of one person. Cusa is better this year but them losing Louisville is going hurt big in both basketball and football. As for UCF they will struggle as long as they continue to get the FSU and Miami rejects. If these thugs are not fit for those schools the only thing they are fit for is prison.

I see your point Motown, but really, 1 year out of a lot means nothing. THis may be the first year that i wouldnt put a pile of money down sayign that head-to-head, that Mac wouldnt tear CUSA a new one....or 7. It would still be close i think. We have a lot of bad teams, they do too. Its a matter of opinion which confs basement is deeper in the dirt. I would say that theirs is. Even Buffalo and EMU are winning games they normally dont. They are beating bad teams, but they usually lose to them too.

This year C-USA is better than the MAC and also why I feel UCF will gain nothing by going there. They will get destroyed except for the once-a-year upset they might pull. Either way, IMO, they are making a big mistake but that's cool. I don't want them in the MAC anyways...

I didn't like adding UCF to begin with. One reason the MAC is strong is its tight geography. As much as I detest Marshall, they're a good fit for the MAC - a strong football program that travels well within the confines of the conference.

A few years from now, UCF will be a mere footnote in MAC history and most of us won't even remember that they ever played in the conference.

I'm mad that we never got to beat them though.
