WGEM Sports has learned that former Quincy Notre Dame standout Trevor Frericks has quit the Bowling Green football team.
Frericks will transfer to wither Western Illinois, Illinois State, or Eastern Illinois to continue his career.
Frericks spent two seasons at Bowling Green, he redshirted last season and played in four games this season.

Wow, I am dissappointed with that. I followed the kid since his h.s. days because he was a classmate of my cousin at Notre Dame H.S. My aunt sent me the clipping out of the local paper when he signed with BG. The scouts were there watching one of his team mates and were impressed with Trevor so much that they began to recruit him.
He had some great upside potential and I was really hoping he would turn in to our next d-line star. He has the tools to be a very good lineman.
I wish him luck, but knowing the area of where he is from some of those kids just have a real tough time of breaking the West-Central Illinois vacuum.

I lived with Trevor in Kreischer Ashley last year. He was a pretty solid dude, and I was looking forward to the day when I'd get to see all those guys working on the field together. Fare thee well.

Jesus Christ! Another player transferring! This has got to stop! The program is in a downward spiral because of all of this! Fire the coach! Oops...I'm sorry, wrong forum.

Tommy is a great kid. I had several history classes with him, and he is one smart, class act. I don't know how much he played tonight (I was too cold to pay much attention to who was on the field most of the night), but I certainly hopes he gets some PT against the Turds. The boy has earned it!

tommy is one of my best friends and none of us well ever give him s**t about football because we respect what he has done. he played college football for 5 years earning a scholarship as a walk on and sticking with it despite not playing that much. i know a couple guys that i have talked say that he would be playing a good role in the defense if strudawa would have stayed as the d-cordinator.

Love that kid. We were the same major so we had a lot of classes together. I'd get him a job if I could.
