I think the talk of OSU and UM is a bit much.
Our field is basically going to be destroyed after this game. Its very dissapointing to see the luck we have had with the weather this year. If it was a few degree cooler and snowing Im sure attendance would be much higher.

Yeah, for a minute I thought I had the OSU-MU preview show on and almost changed the channel.

It was a lot worse last night for the TU-BSU game. They're actually talking about this game. It's actually a pretty good crew.

Sounds like it may be the same crew for the BG @ TU game next Tuesday as well.....

I actually hope it is. If it's the group that announced last night I will have the sound off and listen to it on the radio while watching it on tv.

The same crew of Rece Davis, Mark May, and what's left of Lou Holtz will also be calling the BG-UT game on Tuesday.

I believe all the chatter about "The Game" is pretty much a directive from ESPN/ABC headquarters and not necessarily initiated by the game announcers. I'm surprised they didn't have them chime in about the Knight incident as well.
I thought Coach Holtz had some complimentary remarks about the BG program and the Sebo Center but it was difficult to hear or understand what he was saying a lot of the time.

JFC! Don't they have enough time to talk about that other game on Saturday? They are already starting the pre-game 1 hour earlier for it. I find it an outrage that they were doing phone calls and top-ten lists. Pathetic. I think it's a slap in the face to both BGSU and Miami(OH). For those who wish to comment on this, here is a link

Last I checked, Miami played on the same field as us. A sloppy field like that should benefit the team that runs the ball better.
We're in the top 25 in rushing offense in the country. Miami isn't in the top 100. Inexcusable to lose to that team with that kind of an advantage. Inexcusable, but not surprising in the least.

I put up the following post on my blog after the game last night, and got some interesting responses.
STOP TALKING ABOUT THE ________ _________ OSU-MICHIGAN GAME DURING THE BOWLING GREEN GAME. I DON'T CARE ABOUT THE BUCKEYES. I CARE ABOUT BG. THERE ARE PLENTY OF OTHER TIMES ON ESPN THAT YOU CAN TALK ABOUT IT, BUT HOW 'BOUT YOU TALK ABOUT THE GAME THAT YOU'RE AT, AND NOT THE ONE THAT'S COMING UP IN A FEW DAYS. Thank you
Here are the responses:
1. Amen!
2. I'd like to ditto her there!
3. That was one crazy game. 'nuff said, even if the announcers did f'ing suck.
And, while this kind of doesn't follow your post, since we shouldn't be discussing OSU- Michigan during BG - Miami games, it bothers me that announcers and other people assume that one should be an OSU fan just because you're from Ohio. It really bothered me how they called it one of the "cleanest" games in football. Considering OSU fans are a bunch of rioting punks, I hardly claim that to be true. Sorry for my venting on your page, I just assume more people will read yours than mine!
4. I second that emotion.
5. Oh, and people from Ohio don't HAVE to be OSU fans. Just so long as they're not michigan fans
6. OHHHHHHHHHH that drove me insane, too. Those announcers sucked. I felt like we just barely would make it back to OUR game in time for each play... and a lot of the time, they talked right through everything... interviewing former OSU players, talking to MIAMI'S COACH about MICHIGAN/OSU!! Argh. Uncalled for. Talk about the game you're covering... talk about Saturday another time... like... on Saturday.
I think that I'm going to send this off to ESPN. Thanks for the above link.

I sent the following email to ESPN. I had more to say but there is a 500 character limit. I got creative.
I am APPALLED at the coverage of the BG-Miami game. I understand that it is not the most important game this week to most people, but I was insulted by the fact that there was more talk of Saturday's game than there was commentary of the game that was ACTUALLY BEING TELEVISED. Gradually, MAC fans are growing angry with ESPN's deplorable MAC coverage. We deserve more. And tell Holtz that its the MAC, not the MAC Conference. That's redundant and unprofessional. And he should know; he went to Kent.
