I'm not sure about Brandon, but...

...I am sure of one thing - and it truly does pain me to no end to say this about a very good guy and a fellow alum - Stud has to be relieved of his coordinating duties. Period. As I was saying to It's the Journey after the game tonight, we aren't running a spread offense, we aren't running a pistol offense, and we aren't running any other recognizable offensive system. We are running a clusterf**k offense, and that falls squarely on the shoulders of the man implementing the offensive scheme and calling the plays. I believe that Brandon deserves another year (I honestly don't know why), but even if just for his own pride, a change needs to be made at OC. I applauded Brandon for studying and implementing the pistol into our offense this year, and I still do. I just don't believe that anything has been implemented competantly on that side of the ball.
And I must say this, too: our defense has been HUGE this year playing well while the offense goes three and out on quarterback draws. They don't get nearly enough credit for how far they have come this year, and I think a lot of that is because of the pressure put on them by the complete breakdown of our once powerful and effective offense.
I am honestly so very sorry Stud. It really isn't personal, but I think it needs to be said. It has been easy during this season to fault youth and an injured quarterback for our offensive woes, but as our offensive play calling and execution has grown more and more inept and ineffective as the season has worn on, it is becoming pretty clear to me that the offensive leadership is flailing.
God, I feel like sh*t now.

Brandon's the offensive "guru", and I have to think he has major input on that side of the ball. If he doesn't, then what the hell is he here for? And if he does, which I'm pretty sure he does, he deserves at least equal blame for our ineptitude.
IMO, any offensive-minded head coach worth his salt would have taken over play calling duties about 2 months ago.

Brandon will be back...Will Studrawa? I don't know. He turned down a job at UCF a couple of years ago that paid six figures. I don't think he'd be the choice to succeed Brandon should GB get another gig, quit or not get renewed, so the incentive to stay here may not be as strong as it was before.
I think Lovett has done a good job with the defense. We need to find someone who can coach up the special teams.
(Thank you, Captain Obvious)

I am in love with the phrase "clusterf**k offense"
maybe we can call it the "spread clusterf**k," or the "Run & Clusterf**k." (maybe the "clusterf**k and shoot?")
West coasterf**k?
clusterf**k option?
Or Flipper's Date Night Offense, the "Single-Wing Clusterf**k"

Didn't San Francisco run the West coasterf**k in the 90's? i'm reading a book called "Coaching Run & Clusterf**k Football" right now. Very interesting about Glenn Ellison and 'Mouse' Davis.

I would definately have to agree with your last point - why he has not taken over play-calling duties is totally beyond me. But, at the same time, I can see how, as someone who was recently an OC, Brandon might want to give his coordinators the autonomy to try and improve their in-game decision making. I can see it, but I don't agree with it.
I really don't see us buying out Brandon's contract, but I will be extremely disappointed if a few days after the Turd game we have not been informed of Stud's demotion. Brandon needs to bring in someone who has been an OC elsewhere and knows how to implement a definitive offensive scheme. I think the experiment with promoting a position coach to learn on the job has proven to be a failure. This is not the type of position that you can learn on the fly.
It is amazing how easy play calling can be for two years when you have a quarterback that only throws 8 interceptions over that period, and even more amazing how much harder it becomes when that quarterback is gone...

Oh, and while I'm thinking of it - can anyone think of a single time this year that we ran a pass play out of the pistol set? I honestly can't think of us doing anything out of the pistol other than run HB draws and dives.

We run play action out of that set 1 or 2 times per game. I think it usually ends up being a deep pass over the middle to Corey.

West coasterf**k?
clusterf**k option?
Or Flipper's Date Night Offense, the "Single-Wing Clusterf**k"
the "clusterf**k and shoot?" -- still rolling about this one. My vote for post of the day - no question.

This is awesome. How about the Westclusterf**k Offesnes?
Seriuosly, though. I really, really do want Coach Stud relieved of his OC duties. I really don't want to see him fired at ALL - I merely want to see him demoted. I honestly don't understand why I am the only person on this board that seems to feel this way. All of you out there who are calling for Brandon's ouster, in my opinion, have your priorities
completely misplaced. Yes, things have deteriorated over the past few years, but I challenge you to look at the aspects of our team that have deteriorated over the past year, bearing my own quote in mind:
It is amazing how easy play calling can be for two years when you have a quarterback that only throws 8 interceptions over that period, and even more amazing how much harder it becomes when that quarterback is gone...
Come to think of it, the same goes for having Harris here. It is so easy to call plays when you have a healthy, experienced quarterback...

I'll second that!!!
Falcon30, that is about the funniest thing I've seen in a long time. It might be the funniest thing I've ever seen on this board!!

Thank you all - Glad to provide something to laugh about after that game.
I am dying for someone to ask me what kind of offense BG runs...
