Wow. This is sad. I got to meet him once. The whole team did. In '92 the week before we played OSU. He's a legend.

Sad news indeed.

He was probably the most famous assistant coach BG ever had. :D

I was stunned to hear this, my dad called me around 11 to tell me what had happened. It certainly puts a somber tone on tomorrow's game and reminds us that it is exactly what it is...just a football game.

RIP Bo, and thank you for your contributions to college football and for bringing life to the sport, your programs and your students. You will be sorely missed.

I will never forget Bo in the Doyt Perry video...his emotions for Doyt were impressive.

Bo was one of a kind. I was just telling all these OSU fans around here that Bo learned his football from the great Doyt Perry, not Woody. They don't want to hear that fact, though.

O & B,

Great point. RIP Bo....you will always be a legend. My prayers are with your family.

It is very sad to see a coaching legend like Bo pass away. Even more sad when it happens on the eve of probably the biggest game ever in such a storied rivalry.

It will be interesting to see how the emotion of his passing effects the Wolverines.

I hate to say this too, but it will also be interesting to see how OSU fans react to this. Do you think they will have a moment of silence at the game?

Doyt and Woody are probably at the gates with St. Peter just waiting on his arrival.

Rest in peace Coach.

Of course they will.

I wonder if the the band Dead Schembechlers feel like jerks.

They actually wrote a pretty nice, sensical note on their message board expressing their condolences and explaining that they used the name since he symbolized Michigan football, not as anything personal.
