Re: Some possible available guys
I don't get why these three are on the 07 Hot Seat, Brooks is taking UK to a bowl, so he'll be off for atleast a year, Coker is all but gone, and Smith has already been firedMatelaAntwerp wrote: 2007 NCAA 1-A HOT SEAT

no chance in hell that any of these three would come hereMatelaAntwerp wrote:Walt Harris, Karl Dorrell and Glen Mason would all be major upgrades.

The responses that I get from these things are classic and always on one pole or the other. Either, "You are an idiot we would never want a coach who was fired" or "You are an idiot those guys would never come here."BGFalconfromCincy wrote:I don't get why these three are on the 07 Hot Seat, Brooks is taking UK to a bowl, so he'll be off for atleast a year, Coker is all but gone, and Smith has already been firedMatelaAntwerp wrote: 2007 NCAA 1-A HOT SEAT

Solich is a partier...he probably got wasted and thought he was interviewing for a job at OSU.
I look at our budget and our recent history. Brandon was already here, but he was a positional coach before coming to BGSU. Meyer was a position coach at Notre Dame. Blackeny was a position coach at OSU (although he HAD been a coordiantor).
You have to go back to he 70's and 80's to see us hire a guy like Solich (Denny Stoltz) or a larger school coordinator (Moe Ankney).

It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Re: Some possible available guys
Damn right he is safe at UK. If UK does get a bowl, which they should, that would make a world of difference to extending his tenure here. Not to mention that BG probably shouldn't want a coach with a career record of 105-140.BGFalconfromCincy wrote:Brooks is taking UK to a bowl, so he'll be off for at least a year,MatelaAntwerp wrote: 2007 NCAA 1-A HOT SEAT

I don't think it's BG nearly as much as MantelaAntwerpUK Peregrine wrote:Not to mention that BG probably shouldn't want a coach with a career record of 105-140.
