In the media notes, it was announced that Jean Panning would be retiring from the football office this year after over two decades years of service. It is a gigantic loss for BG football in too many ways to count.
Few everyday fans realize what a invaluable role she has played in the operation of the program. She is an encyclopedia of Falcon football knowledge, and I don't think I've known a nicer, friendlier or more helpful person. As a nervous BG student waiting outside the head coaches office to discuess a position working with the team, she helped quell my considerable anxiety with some reassuring words and a smile. Anyone who has ever called or visited the football office can surely speak to her kindness and willingness to help solve any problem or issue that would arise.
The Blade did a great recent story on the role she has played in the program:

If the team needed any extra incentive to beat Toledo today, winning one last game for Jean Panning should be it.
