Artificial Turf???

Post by MacGuy »

The Blade today said BG is looking at the cost and practicality of installing synthetic turf and said Brandon was in favor of considering it.

Hopefully Brandon will be gone before they decide.

There were a few slips on our rug last night-that seems to be a problem in colder weather. It was worse the previous week. I like grass but the downside seems to be greater as they continue to improve the artificial stuff so that injuries aren't the issue they once were.

If we do anything, it will be a change to field-turf. Not that stinking carpet you guys play on.

Does UT have any future plans to switch from plastic to field-turf?

The stuff we have can't be an option because the company went out of business. It actually has a field turf feel to it though, not plastic. However, it is nowhere near field turf quality and is slippery if you don't have the right shoe. BG should know what shoe to use by now.

There are not any immediate plans to change to field turf at UT. We don't have the money right now with paying for the merger.
