I try not to fan the flames, but don't we normally have more commits than this at this point?

O and B,
I've felt the same way as you...only "verbal" so far is the WR from Detroit, who was "on board" so to speak for quite awhile. That said, only ELEVEN seniors were honored at the Miami game, so it'll be interesting to see exactly how many scholarships we DO have to give out...with the high number of RS and true freshmen, I'd think there wouldn't be a whole lot to give, but if you check out Miami and C.Mich. commits, for example, they're both already in double figures. The rest of the MAC schools are in the 2-5 commit category from what I could see.

I suspect it is more than 10 or 11 though, because we had some guys (Brandon Jones, maybe others) who were in their senior year but did not make it to senior day.

We seem to have this conversation every year....the number of public commits isn't always an accurate barometer of recruiting activity. The coaching staff generally doesn't comment on numbers and they CAN'T comment on specific players, so we're left with the kids, their coaches and their parents.

If they don't want to make the news public..it isn't made public. So, we could have 10 commits, we could have 5...we could have none if the kid from Detroit changed his mind. It's all so wonderfully Kafkaesque....

I know, Flipper. But, generally word gets out when we have committments (and often NOT from web sources) and it seems like by now things are starting to take shape. But, as I wrote earlier, it was just an observation. Things may well be in hand.

I think Brandon has instituted a "talk and you die" policy. We'll know for sure if some bodies start turning up.

Or Perhaps they figure that with fewer schollies, they can wait out the kids they really want and give them a big show with a mostly finished SEBO...?

Maybe nobody wants to come here until matelantwerp hires the new coach.

Eh, if any recruit were to read some of the threads here I'm sure they'd think twice before coming here. Nothing against any individual member, but there isn't exactly a lot of support for the program right now.

If a kid is dumb enough to let what some idiots on a message board say strongly influence their college decision, I don't want them at my school.

I'm pretty sure that every single BG person that posts here strongly supports the program. Everything isn't sunshine and puppies 24/7.

Mark Duffner for Head Coach. i would have hired him arleady if i could.

:-D

As for reading negative posts on a message board. You can go to any message board anywhere and read negative things. If you don't hear negative things about a 4-8 team then i would think even less about that team. We don't expect failure. That is why we are upset.

With the team we had returning was 4-8 record a shock to anyone? Plus Barnes and Turner not healthy and our leading tackler, Terrell White, was out for 1-2 games. Come on people.

4-8 was absolutely a shock to me. Especially the way it happened. We lost 5 in a row to close the year, lost to the worst team in the country and lost to our top three rivals. Go back and look at the posts prior to the year. Predictions were around 7-5.

And last year Omar got hurt, and we play too many games on the road, and the mud made our kicker slip, and this pass interference call was wrong and bla bla bla bla bla. You could go to work for Gregg Brandon with excuses like that.

We had a hideous schedule, and we performed hideously throughout. No amount of potpourri-flavored excuses can cover up the stink of this season. We are a very bad football team right now.
