Navy
Watching the (sailors? students?) from the press box as they wound through the campus as they made their way to the stadium is one of my all-time memories of BG football.factman wrote:Not only is it nice having them come here, but that is also one of my "all time " favorite football trips. Annapolis, the Naval Academy and Chesapeake Bay make for a GREAT long weekend!
(Drawing the last leg of the drive from Y'town to BG at 5am is one of the others. So is sleeping for 12 hours straight immediately after that.)

I had considered that, too, but I didn't know if that was just the nickname for the sports teams.hammb wrote:MidshipmenTG1996 wrote: (sailors? students?)
Anyway, when all the kids that are enrolled in the US Naval Academy show up for the football game, it's pretty kick ass.

At Annapolis they're referred to as midshipmen....Army and AF Acad. refer to them as cadets. And I agree with a previous post...trip to Navy for games is really awesome. The whole Brigade of middies marches into the stadium, usually in dress whites if early in season. It's really impressive...and Annapolis is a beautiful town with part of the Chesapeake Bay literally running into the center of town. Very scenic and very historic.
