Today's Game

I was dissappointed in OU's defense. Our receivers made them look silly all game long. Omar's timing was a bit off today, otherwise he throws for 500 yds in three quarters. The running game was absent but who needs to run when you can pick apart a D like that? Our D did not allow OU to do anything. To me they only gave up 3 points. I do not count that TD in the 4th quarter. Garbage time. Honestly I think we could play a lot better then this and we dominated this game on both sides. BTW Steve Sanders is emerging as the best receiver on the team. Triple team him or whatever, Ou could not stop him. Go falcons!

the way Sanders is stepping up shows GREAT things for next year (not that this year is over by a long shot, of course). But at the start of the year I was wondering if it would be the Sharon/Magner show this year, and then Sharon plus "????" next year. Having Sharon AND Sanders as proven weapons next season keeps the offense exciting!

McGrady looked reliable today too. Is he a jr or sr?

McGrady=Senior.
I just go back from Athens. Coach Knorr of the Bobcats said that they wanted to make BG one-dimensional by stopping the run, which he conceeded they had done and still gotten beat. I have wondered if that wasn't a strategy teams were using--if so, its not bright unless you have really good cover guys. OU tried their blitzing schemes, but Omar rarely holds the ball very long, and on a couple occasions had days to throw. They did knock him down a couple times.

OU quite simply does not have the athletes to cover our receivers. They were slow out there. This game could have been a lot worse and we still had 389 yards passing after 3 quarters.

I'm not sure how well Ohio thinks they did against us, but seeing the score 41-16 in favor of BG is a nice sight to my eyes!

That number would have been well over 400 if some of the early passes were caught. Thankfully things turned around really fast and the BG offense exploded!

I didn't see the game, but was able to listen to much of the first half on the radio. All I can say is that this statement is so wrong on SO many levels. Yes, you can pick apart lesser teams with this, but you CAN NOT be a championship team until you learn to run & stop the run. At some point you'll HAVE to do those things in order to win football games.
