And they like our offense.

Makes sense. Even though we ran tons of QB draws, we still performed better offensively in 06 than FSU. At least we knew how to run the ball for positive yards, unlike them.

Yeah gosh because 44 points on UCLA is so bad! I know a lot of that was slop, but UCLA does have a good D!

Nothing like the exception that proves the rule. FSU was putrid on offense all year long. One good outing doesn't magically erase all that.

To say we were any better though, is laughable. We were a pathetic offensive team this year. We ran the ball well at times and were one of the 5 worst passing teams in the country against a bottom 10 schedule. I'd have trouble naming 5 teams that I could definitively say were worse than us offensively this year. We had no clue what we were trying to accomplish. Ever.

FSU averaged 26.5 PPG this year, while BG averaged 19.5! They fired their OC. Oh and I'm pretty sure Florida, Miami, & Wake Forest have a lot tougher defenses than Temple, Buffalo, & Eastern Michigan!

Ummm, I'm obviously not disputing that FSU's offense was better than ours. That doesn't mean it was good. Saddam Hussein may have been a cooler guy than Pol Pot, but that doesn't mean I'm inviting him over for dinner.

On the other hand, Idi Amin might have had you for dinner....literally.

Just throwing this out there, but I think Brandon is seriously considering the opportunity to become the offensive coordinator at Florida. We shall see.

didnt someone say a while ago that there was a rumor that this would come to pass? i hope he goes, seems like a win win for both sides. we get a new coach and he gets a chance to salvage his coaching career as oc instead of bumbling hc. it seems like urban was brandon's mentor so hopefuly he'll make the offer.

Other than some message board chatter, what evidence is there that there is an opportunity? I think UM will be loyal to Dan Mullen, and there aren't a lot of places for him to go right now.

I talked to someone who asked one of the coaches specifically about Brandon going to Florida as the OC and he received the infamous "No Comment" in return. Imply what you want from that.

well you know that we wont know anything until gb's desk is packed up and he's gone. everyone's so dishearted by the athletic department's saying that gb isnt going anywhere, but it seems thats always the way before a personal change. they're not going to say "yea we're firing that idiot" to anyone who calls. i know a few ppl who are convinced that gb's gone before spring game, but of course there's no way to know for sure yet. all we can do is hope some of these rumors (gb going to be oc at florida for example) came from a liquored up coach or ad official in the know who let a bit too much slip out at a cocktail party. it happens quite a bit. i know i overheard someone who works with the reds organization let out that new uniforms and the loss of aurilia were on the way long before last season was over and anything was announced. (i work at a country club bar in dayton) so it DOES happen. all we can do is wait and pray

Hmmm...IIRC the origin of this rumor seemed to be some "inside" gossip right around the UT game. Either this story has some validity or someone on the inside at BGSU is trying to undercut GB...not the kind of thing you want to hear around the final recruiting push.

Yes. I figure I'll drop myself and many others in it at least a dozen times tonight, and if I turn my mobile off now, everyone will have forgotten my faux pas' by tomorrow. Hopefully the serious transgressions, too, although some people do have incredibly long memories.

Happy New Year.
