VANCE JOSEPH!!!

Don't know about the rest of you, but I think our most worrisome position heading into this season was DB and they have been TREMENDOUS!!!

If someone is at the coaches show tonight I would appreciate it if they would pass this along to Todd to ask GB if he has the same impression of the job being done by Vance and the DB's.

GO FALCONS!!!

No doubt. Coach Brandon mentioned a week or two ago in one of his press conferences how good of a job Vance has done.

Great point Tom! The secondary has been a very pleasant surpise.

Don't have an orgy yet.....

We haven't exactly played any really good pass teams at all yet. UT will surely test whether or not our db's have learned alot since last year. Lately we've been pounded on the run mostly.

Against Turdledo, isn't all our db's need to do is stand about 8 yards off the line in the flat? I hear that's the only place their qb throws because 1) he has a weak arm, and 2) he has a weak arm.

What did OU have rushing? 65 yards on 30 carries. Not exactly moving the ball up and down the field. OU had 98 against UT and 76 against Marshall. Looks like our run defense is holding its own compared to our upcoming opponents. The entire defense is playing well, including the DBs, sometimes it just takes a little to gel. Minus the NIU debacle, the overall defensive performance has been more than adequate this season and the team appears to be getting better with each game.

What?

Uh, our run D against Ball St. was quite questionable to say the least. 123 yards to that Givens kid. Ball St. offense has to be near dead last in the MAC for sure. Our D-line needs to really gear up for EMU here this week. We gave up a 160 yards to Anthony Sherell last year. We can not do the same this time. If we do actually keep Sherrell under 100 yards rushing , it will be because Matt Leineger. I've said that this guy has been the anchor of the d-line for us. Yeah, Ohio only netted about 65 yards rushing cuz' of the sacks we got. Take those sacks away and they probably get about 110 or so rushing.

Ooooh! SO CLOSE! You almost spelled "Leininger" right this time. Keep trying, though!

If I remember the coach correctly, he did not have a run longer than eight yards so biggy boo. Besides, most of the yards was in garbage time against our second and third strings.

Sure we can!! EMU blows.

WHOA....110 yards rushing...how can we possibly win another game allowing that much yardage <end sarcasm>

I'd rather give up the yards on one or two big plays than get shredded for tons of 8 yard carries. That said it was irrelevent in the BSU game due to the fact that the game was out of hand before they started running the ball.
Sure we can!! EMU blows.
They're better than last year and that game was way closer than it should've been.

The Emus are pretty pumped up right now. They're coming off a bye week and riding a two-game road winning streak - their first since the mid or late 70s, I believe. This is a team that believes it is ready to bust out and poised for a turnaround. Don't expect them to come in like Ball State and just roll over.

I was at that EMU game last year and I think it could be argued fairly well that they out-played us. I was uncomfortable with that game until late in the 3rd quarter. The freshman QB who went in that game, Kyle Bohnet, was pretty good. THeir starter now is Bohnet, the brother of Kyle, who transfered in from Iowa and won a Big 11 Championship there.

EMU doesn't exactly scare me, but they are on the right track.

My mid season props go to Steve "Mutha-Truckin" Sanders, that guy is playing quite well.

Yes, our run D could be better....but look at the scores of these games lately. I don't care if someone runs for 300 yards on us if we win the game!

Stats can be used any way ya want...we do it all the time for our offense.

EMU will pose a threat running the ball.
But I certainly don't see the EMU defense slowing us down.

DD,
The "Sandman" is indeed the guy these days! He is blowing people up! I was at that EMU game as well and didn't feel comfortable until the game was over... :o Just too close for comfort the whole night.
