Come on O&B! I'm sure Urban still has a lot to accomplish at Utah...And I am sure Mrs. Meyer is packing up the car and pointing it towards Florida! "Urban, I wanna go to FLAAA-RID-DAAA!"

Maybe Mrs. Meyer is tired of skiing, the mountains and lot of snow? Maybe now she wants to trade in her BMW for a swampboat and chase alligators out of her front yard? I mean, they've been at Utah now for almost two years and have had lots of success and want to stay there.....why would the leave anytime soon after they said they wouldn't??? I'm being facetious of course.

I don't think that's really going out on the limb. I think most everybody expects the old ballcoach to be coaching at the Swamp again next year.
Why Urban Meyer may get the Florida job.

1. Spurrier is obviously the fans choice to take over again in Gainesville, but it's not the gimme many people seem to think it is. A big part of why Spurrier left in the first place was his feuding with AD Jeremy Foley, in addition to his curiousity of whether he could win in the NFL. Obviously Florida will contact him, as Foley would likely be canned if he didn't extend an offer to Spurrier. But if Foley is still around, perhaps Spurrier wouldn't want to go back. If this is the case, you have to wonder if UF would fire Foley in favor of Spurrier. With as popular as Spurrier is down there, its possible, but not likely. What may keep Spurrier away is the fact that alot of NFL personnel seem to think he can still be successful in the league, and according to Chris Mortensen, the Dolphins are rumored to be at least interested if Wannstedt is fired at season's end.
2. Urban Meyer is obviously not content staying at a non-BCS school his whole career. He used BG as a stepping stone to Utah, and there is no reason he won't use Utah as the same thing. Last year Cincinnati offered him their vacant position, and being a UC alum, him turning it down tells me he doesn't plan on being a coach at this level very long. It would seem Cincinnati would have been the perfect job for him, assuming he didn't have his eye on the SEC or Big 12, which he obviously does. Basically, he probably wanted to coach at Cincinnati but there was no sense in him leaving Utah after just a year to coach at Cincinnati for a very short time as well until one of these opportunites came along.
3. The domain name
www.hireurbanmeyer.com has already been reserved, although it's not up and running yet, many think by the same group of people who ran
www.fireronzook.com last season. If this is not the case, it is presumably being run by Florida fans according to ESPN.com, so we know at least the fans down there would welcome Meyer as coach, assuming Spurrier does not get the job. Anyone who thinks Meyer is at Utah for the long haul is kidding themselves, he will be in the BCS leagues soon, and this seems like the perfect opportunity. I think a player like Chris Leak, and all the athleticism that Florida recruits bring to the table would suit his style of offense perfectly. Look at the offenses of BG and Utah, they rely heavily on good athletes first and foremost.

Just because I was bored,
www.hireurbanmeyer.com is registered to a guy in Orlando (
http://www.whois.net/whois.cgi2?d=hireurbanmeyer.com), but
www.fireronzook.com is apparently registered to the Munsters. (Or was it the Adams family?)
(The link was too long to mess with, but it was registered to "Baba Booey" of the "Crying Gators", at 1313 Mockingbird Lane in Gainesville.

We did get "used for a stepping stone" but I don't really blame him for it. Yes I hate how he went about leaving but that isn't what this is about. If he gets to coach at Florida, then all I can say is he really knows what he is doing. If he does well there, maybe a pro team will pick him up after awhile. His ability to make a team good is incredible. My only problem is that if he starts jumping places every 2 years, no one will really know how good of a coach he really is. To get a team a few winning season and to keep a team winning on a consistent basis for 8+ years is a whole different game...

Meyer is going to be mentioned with EVERY major coaching vacancy.

I agree with this sentiment, however, I then look at what he has done here & there. The talent that we are currently winning with was all Urban's talent. He took a school that had been dismal and began getting legit athletes to come here. Now he's doing the same thing at Utah with some great recruits coming in and at least showing interest (I believe he has a verbal from a 4 * guy already).
Urban Meyer has shown a propensity for getting his guys ready to play. If he can continue to be that master motivator that's really all that matters for him. Anybody can recruit at Florida, that's the easy part, its getting them to play up to their level that's difficult, and right now I don't think there is anyone in the country better at it than Urban.
If Urban Meyer goes to Florida Chris Leak will win a Heisman. Probably next year. That kid is the prototype Urban QB, who's really being held down by the current coaching staff.

I'll admit to not reading this whole thread, but wanted to chime in.
Spurrier goes to Florida.
Urban will leave Utah soon enough, but it won't be as HC of the Gators.

my prediction...
Spurrier goes back to the Swamp and they take the SEC title with a Heisman-cailber quarterback (Chris Leak).
Mr and Mrs Meyer will be line dancing in Austin...wearing Longhorn's gear.
