A kicker and a punter, too. Don't think it was ever officially announced, but I did hear that Rojas has left the team.

Thanks for the update! We'll have Davis for three years at LB, which is nice. Must be a decent athlete - he earned three letters in track and finished second in South Carolina in high jump and long jump as a junior and senior. Obviously the kicker and punter will fill immediate gaps.
The battle at RB will be interesting. Bullock must be #1. I wonder if Macon will respond to Ransom's presence and step it up going into his senior year. And what about Thomas? Will he return this year?

I might be wrong, but I think someone posted earlier this(last) year that Bobby Thomas isn't in school any more. Too bad...I'd told Freak how tough the kid was and he showed us a lot in his Fr. year. But school has to be the most important thing for kids...too bad some don't take full advantage of it.

I heard he was a two sport athlete-football and tractor pull. If your LB was a high jumper he must be a GREAT athlete and an intelligent and honorable man as well. Well, by BG standards.JohnnySwoop '85 wrote:Yeah but think of the traction you get with that much weight when your trying to muscle in a ...say...27 yarder when your playing in the Black Swamp.
Couple of 50+ on the resume too.

Like the looks of the kicker.
Prior to BGSU: Attended Trinity Valley Community College...was a two-time first team all-conference selection...named first team All-American...helped the Cardinals to a SWJCFC conference and Pilgrim's Pride Bowl championships in 2005 when he was the nation's second-rated JC kicker hitting on 37 of 38 PATs and 14 FG's with a career-long of 55 ...recorded 128 career points...was 53 of 55 in extra point attempts and had 23 field goals... JC teammate of fellow Falcon, Eric Ransom.

If Bobby Thomas is back and sticks it out, the RB position is suddenly the strength of the team with Ransom and the speed back from Florida coming in plus Bullock. Thomas is a slashing, explosive back and gives us an element we lacked last year.bgfalcon03 wrote:I heard Bobby Thomas is back...
He has been at the team meetings..
If the passing game gets its act together, this offense could be very dangerous.
Joe:
Agreed. Bullock, Thomas and Ransom sounds like a lethal combination; Macon would be a wildcard. I've said before that if we get solid play from the QB position (be it Turner, Sheehan or Glaud), we have some real potential - Corey and Freddie Barnes should make a great 1-2 combo, then you add Sean O and Pronty, maybe Parks is ready to step up ... looks pretty solid.

Too many ifs there for me, but I agree, on paper......the sky is the limit.1987alum wrote:Joe:

Don't I have a bet with someone over who gets more touches Ransom or Macon?

I think Macon is one of the most underrated players on our team. I think if Thomas comes back that we need to look at moving Macon somewhere else. If not him then another RB to a different position because all of those guys need to see the field, and I'm not a big fan of the running by comittee type thing.
Also that is huge for a kicker. Maybe he'll our version of Janikowski?
