Per Rivals, RB Wllie Geter has picked us over (cr)Akron and late interest from USF (the dicks who were afraid to play us up here in 2004).

He's a wee little sprite...5'8" and 160lbs, but he runs a 4.5 40. In falconboy's vision of hell he plays DT.

Rivals gives him two stars, but it's a high two stars (underlying number is 5.3)

I remember that BG's most exciting player CHUCK was only about 155-160 pounds when he came to BG from florida, although he was a little taller. I wonder if we can get this kid some lifts for his shoes..... :)

Here's an informative link about Geter. It sounds like we're getting a heckuva player with great speed and a nasty competitive streak.

I wonder if he'll be a RB, WR, or CB. Or all 3 at some point.

whatever happened to that "speedster" Zach Charles? I can't remember seeing catch a pass all season.

You must've been looking 5 or more yards past the LOS most of the season...silly you :)

Zach caught quite a few passes early in the year, mostly of the 2 yards or less variety. He finished with 14 catches for 50 yards. I'm pretty sure it is actually difficult to manage an average of < 4.0 ypc.

He caught 14 balls as a true freshman.

Even if he had caught none, I'm not sure why this would disqualify one from being optimistic about all future incoming recruits with a reputation for speed, particularly ones who play a different position.

Charles Sharon and Steve Sanders caught exactly 0 passes during their freshmen seasons as both were redshirted.

Looking at the pic its hard to believe that this kid is only 160. With some more weight training form Hillman we got a nice built kid with some speed. I'd like to see him at reciever or rb.

He caught 14 balls as a true freshman before getting hurt. But yeah, it's better to overlook that stuff to take snarky little shots at him when he isn't even the topic of conversation.

If you look at the thread re: Vanguard kid commits...there's a listing of all-area or all-Fla. D-3 kids.....and Willie Geter is listed as a FIRST TEAM DEFENSE ......LB!!!! :D
