New jerseys in the offing?

In an interview on scout.com *** QB Nate Brown talked about his visit to BGSU...he mentioned that he was impressed with the new construction and that we were putting $$$ into new jerseys.

Is there a redesign in the offing?

IIRC, Brown is looking at us and Temple...I suspect Buffalo may get back on him hard as they had a commit from another *** QB blow up onthem last week.

Darn - Based on the title of this thread, I thought the discussion would be about either us playing Rutgers or Bon Jovi playing halftime for the Boise game

Well I know the athletic department's been pushing towards getting every team to use the "updated" Falcon logo. As far as I know, football's the only team who hasn't done it yet.

It would make sense that we get new ones either this season or the season following. The life cycle of uniforms is 3-4 seasons. When Urban came we got the orange drop shadow block number years- those were used his two seasons and the MCB season. Then we go the new bow-tie jerseys that were used during the GMAC Bowl season, the season after (which saw the debut of the brown alts for the final game), and this past season.

The timeline would make sense for new uniforms. WIll they use a new design or keep the current design and just get new threads? Will the brown jerseys remain alts. or will they be used as a primary?

If they need any suggestions for new unis. they know where to look. . . ;-)

I think we'll continue to see the brown used as a "third" jersey. However, the brown jersey is adidas' "style" right now.

Example:

When is our contract with adidas up? I think it is soon.

Corey mentioned the fact that our current jerseys are a loose fit and that they would like to have something that is tight and form fitting like most teams. This helps prevent tacklers or blockers from getting a good hand full of jersey.

He has never said anything about us actually getting something for next season.

I believe the athletic department very recently signed a department-wide adidas contract that will last for a while.

Which I still believe was one of the dumbest things this University has done.

Scott:

Do the players do anything to tighten the jerseys? You always hear about pro teams doing "seamstress" work on jerseys to make them almost form fitting for the reasons you point out.

If true, that means another round of jerseys for the Freaks. LOL!

I've never been particularly fond of the current jerseys. Hopefully they come up with something better this time around. I'm more of a fan of the simplistic jerseyes...orange with brown & white trim would be fine for me. I really liked the Browns "alternate" jerseys, and think they'd work well here.

i really dig the orange jersey's with the brown under the arms and the orange pants combo... its unique and looks a bit more polished then the 2003 era jerseys. they looked discount to me, like a high school team

the brown jersey's are ok, but it makes them look too much like the browns. i know that doesnt seem that bad to some of you fans but ppl i know just think we're copying the browns.

I want something that actually says "Bowling Green" or "Falcons" across the front, ala the brown alternates.

by far the best jerseys we have are the white on whites. i think the brown looks like crap and makes us look like a high school team. i say they stick with the same ones we have except just make new ones that are the form fitting kind.
