since someone raised the question on the turf war thread that if we changed the 50 yd line logo we'd have to change the logo on the helmets i thought id do a quick mock up to see if itd work (and to put off studying)

now...calm down traditionalists the brown face guard is in fact OLD. it was used at bg in 1977. and frankly...i think it should have stuck around.

that being said...i think the helmet works pretty well.



what do ya'll think? i like it personaly. i think all the changes that we could be saying will go along way to make our program look sleek and cleaned up.

i cant stand it, i hate the newer logo. it just looks too much like that damn skinhawk in Miami. The first time I saw it was walking into a hockey game. I said to my self "I thought we were playing Northern Mich today, not Miami." Then I got inside with some brighter lights and wanted to blow my foot off for mistaking my very own falcon logo for a skinhawk. Never like it, never will. I know I am one of the few around here, but keep it classic, its better.

I would like to see a non-orange helmet (maybe white?) with the retail logo. and lose the stripes since we are playing virtual dress-up

didnt feel like scaling it down but here ya go on ur white helmet and stripeless orange... must say i prefer tradition here.

The problem (as it's been since 2003) is that the Falcon logo just doesn't stick out. It's hard to see from afar. I don't mind the white helmet, but I think I'd be willing to see a brown helmet with a brown jersey combo (white pants, of course). Also, the white with the updated logo (not retail) wouldn't be too awfuleither.

B: Orange with a white helmet is a jarring color combo...and would make us look like texas.

Try a white helmet with the interlocking BG and the retail logo in the upper right. I think that is the one that was mentioned for the field. And put the stripes back on the helmet!

I like the throwback on the right the best, we shold bring those back maybe update the falcon to make it BOLDER

I'm with you, 87. BG was one of the first schools to even have any sort of logo on the helmet.

Break out the spray paint!

Orange helmet, white and brown stripe, retail logo, white facemask. Basically what we have now but with the retail logo.

Brown home jerseys with white numerals and orange trim.
White away jerseys with brown numerals and orange trim.

White pants with orange and brown striping down side that matches the helmet stripes in style. Home and away.

I agree! No white helmets!!! Let's leave the helmets alone. We made a slight change a couple years ago and that was more than enough IMO. I love the orange helmets.

This is pretty much where I am. I do appreciate that the retail logo stands out more on a white helmet, and I do think white helmets do look very old school. But, that would be an awfully big change. We've never done that here.

If the orange areas inside the retail logo were made white, would that look better on an orange helmet?

I bet it would.

FWIW, we have three approved logos. What is on the helmet now is none of the three. It needs to change one way or another.

I would like to see helmets painted to look like a realistic Cole Magner haircut circa 2003.
