According to ncaafootball.net, their offical cite, Virginia Tech has suspended QB Marcus Vick for the entire 2004 season for several run-ins with the law. These include offering alcohol to 14 and 15 year old girls. Western Michigan plays the Hokies on 9/11 maybe this will open the door for another MAC victory over a big time program, and help our strength of schedule.

Vick wasn't the best QB on the team and would not have been starting anyway, I don't think it effects WMU's chances.
I actually read about this awhile ago, and when it first came out there was speculation that he might lose his scholarship altogether.

Yeah i highly doubt Western has a shot against Virginia Tech, and BG doesnt have much of a shot at Oklahoma either, the MAC won't have as many upsets as last year. We'll beat Temple though 8)

Say what you will. But who would have thought BG could beat Purdue, take OSU to the end, Marshall beating Big 12 champ K-State, and NIU taking out Maryland. I'm optimisitc for the conference this year. Let's not get too down before the season even comes.

Our chances against Purdue I believed whole-heartedly we'd give them a run or win that game. I told that to Andy Evans the week before the Purdue game and he laughed at me because Purdue was a "dark horse Big 10 candidate". I said that BG will win, and they did. OSU I knew would be close because EVERYONE plays OSU close. We had a quality team with a chance to win. We fell just short, but I had a feeling that game would be close.
The Maryland game was @ NIU was it not? That is a bigtime advantage for them. K-State was w/o Roberson in the Marshall game, although Marshall was without Hill as well. Perhaps that's a push, I don't know.
I am pretty sure that the best teams in the MAC this season are not nearly as good as the best teams in the MAC were last year. Marshall & UT are the favorites in the two divisions, but I don't think either is as good as last year's BG or Miami(OH) team was. Certainly the MAC is still on the rise, but I don't think that we'll have as many upsets as we did last year. I just don't think the cream at the top is as good as it was last season.
