ESPN's early class signing prognostications for the MAC. Doesn't look all that good for us at first glance compared to all other schools.

Considering that half of the recruits are missing from that page, I won't go by ESPN's standards. Nate Brown is probably the cream of the crop though.

Check out Gary Wright and Chris Young, too.

rankings.....

I know rankings don't mean all that much, but it sure seems like every other school has a ranked player while we only have 1 in Nate Brown.

17 and 18 year old kids.

Dallas Clark walked on at Iowa.

Things to keep in mind.

Those two are probably leftovers from SFU, CFU, and FIU.

Ooops, I think scout does have Young, but he is listed as a Safety. So this year we recruit athletes, make them all linebackers, and our LB coach and def coord have left. Hmmmm.

Clarke also had a great coach that made the absolute most of his abilities. Sad to say we don't have that.

Falconboy: Do you EVER have anything GOOD to say about BG and its programs/teams (other than women's b-ball)? Quite honestly, I'm getting very TIRED of your negative statements + rants...Don't know about anyone else, but if you "can't say anything nice, don't say anything"....or didn't your mom teach you about that?

Just ignore him. The kid has absolutely no idea what he is ever talking about. It ain't worth it.

Well said, DD. How does anyone really know about these kids til we see them on the field? Don't judge before you know what they can or can't do.

Yes...at least wait until they post the recruiting video. That' the real value in the reception they host on signing day. They talk about specific attributes a player has. Coach Brandon doesn't just stand there and say "Hodges has a chance to be good...look at that long TD catch" . Instead he'll point out how fluid his hips were going into a move, or how quick his feet are.

Josh Dodge pancakes some people, but the most impressive part of his film is the clip where he comes off of his inital block and then gets to the second level to make a second block downfield. You can build size and strength in the weightroom, but there isn't a lot you can do to develop agility like that.

So...IMHO, ESPN can bite me. I like the athletes we signed.

Thank you...and let me add that when you do see the recruiting video you will probably have an exposure to these kids that is equal to or greater than that of the recruiting services. Those guys aren't poring over hours of film on these kids. If they're lucky they get a few minutes or even seconds of film and some input from a guy in the field.

you can outdo them with your own two eyes....
