Great news.

Though it certainly doesn't stop my head from spinning! Hopefully we'll have a BG schedule released within days. (If the past few years are any indication.)

Not sure what to make of this. In an announcement about playing USM, it was announced that the BG game probably wasn't happening. This article states that the USM game replaces the "other" MAC BSU was supposed to be playing.

RELEASE THE DAMN SCHEDULE.

Well, maybe as things shake out the much-maligned AD and Commish managed to figure out a way to save the Boise game.

WTF. This is great news, but still ridiculous. Figuring out the 2000 election in Florida was easier than figuring out our schedule this season.

it's not just you guys.

we're also going nuts in boise waiting for a final schedule to be released. our AD has even admitted that ESPN is part of the issue thanks to our WAC contract, and we've been getting mixed signals who our fifth game is going to be against... either BGSU, a MAC team to be named, or perhaps even a mystery team.

regardless, we hope it will be resolved soon and all of us can start looking forward to next season at last.

HEY I USED TO BE A TUBA PLAYER AND I'VE WALKED PAST PLENTY OF BARS MISTER

i mean, gosh.

Seems to me last season's schedule wasn't settled until April.

Anyone want to check?

new article out of Idaho.
The two-game series replaces this year's BSU game against a MAC team that had never been determined. Last year, BSU replaced a game at Bowling Green by signing a four-year contract with Utah.

"That ended up being a good outcome," WAC commissioner Karl Benson said of Monday's announcement. "The Southern Miss program has established itself as a regular player."

The game is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 22, but could move to Thursday, Sept. 27, to air on an ESPN network.

That move is dependent on Bowling Green pulling out of its Sept. 29 date with the Broncos. That game, scheduled for Bowling Green, Ohio, has been in jeopardy for weeks.

Also, BSU has updated their online schedule. It now shows the USM game on sept 22. The game at BG on Sept 29th is still listed.

If its true, its cool

We will be playing the National Champions again....lol at least as long as a voting system is play for choosing, they were undefeated last year and that is a true national champion.
f**k the BCS

I think we checked on this, and there was a schedule (either OOC or conference, but not both) released around this time the past two years, then the full schedule later in March or early April.

On Feb 28, 2006 there was a press release about not playing Boise St in 2006 and it also listed our out-of-conference opponents and date. The full schedule was not released until April 4, 2006.

I'm to the point where I don't care about being on ESPN anymore. It seems to screw us up every year anymore. And, I'd rather play on Saturdays again. I still want Boise State at the Doyt cuz they are a great program and would draw very well.

The MAC needs to quit whoring itself out for so called "national exposure"....just my view.

On another note, Spring game is less than 2 months away!

I tend to believe with the "official" schedule release from BSU more than ESPN, the Boise Daily Bugle, or any fan site. I'm going to be optimistic and believe that we are hosting Boise State this September.
