Not sure if anyone has seen this link or not but a good friend of mine who goes to Ohio sent this to me. Not sure if anyone cares or just wondering the general reaction from the fans about the picture and what happened at the game with our mascot.

Don't let the article or picture bother you. Freddie had a good time at the game. The BG fans had a good time at the game. And the Ohio fans had fun teasing Freddie when he was down in their area for a bit. The Bobcat mascot couldn't be found for awhile (kind of like the Bobcat secondary) and then they had a little go around. I didn't think it was too bad.
Freddie spent darn near the whole game right in front of BG fans in the corner of the field. The OU fans in that area had a fun running "battle" with Freddie and his sign board. No harm done.
Any Ohio fans who took offense to signage could have read the following shirts worn all over the stadium by Bobcat girls- "Ohio Homecoming 2004- Where All the Players Score!". Also all in fun, of course.
Great game for BG, great school in Ohio U, fun band, good tailgaters- and apparently jounalists at The Post who take things way too seriously.
Go Falcons!

A line like 'Among other statements, the Falcon wrote "Bobcats suck" and "Bobcat girls are easy"' really makes me wonder what the other statements were and if the Bobcat retaliated in anyway. Plus, I know we have a few former Freddie's here and I don't want to offend them, but for god's sake its just a mascot. It's not nearly as bad as a coach punching an opposing team's fan or another coach calling the opposing team a bunch of mandingoes. I'm sure Freddie wrote his comments in jest and plus I dated an OU girls and she was.

I also saw shirts that were brown with orange lettering on it that said BGSUcks on it. There was another one, too, but I can't remember now what it said, though it was a BG put down in orange and brown. So original... The best sign Feddie had up on his board was something like "Toledo still sucks!" That got a cheer from both fans!!!! The Bobcat fans in the O-Zone seemed to be having fun with all of it and no one seemed upset. I was sitting in the section next to them and never heard anything bad, just lots and lots of yelling for their team, which you would expect out of a student section...our section just happened to be louder!!!

For many years Freddie use to wear the number 52. What happened? I just noticed this year that he was wearing a different number.

As a SIC SIC sign I saved from 1994 says:
"Ohio has a Halloween Party, BGSU has a football team."
In any case, Ohio's season is over in October, social and otherwise.
Nuff said.

When athletics got the new football jerseys this year, they donated a few of last year's jerseys to the birds. They still have the old brown one, but just prefer the newer ones instead I guess.

BOBCAT GIRLS ARE EASY??
C'mon get a little more creative. Not the class that I would associate with BG or the mascots.
Also, per the 1980s "BGSU Trivia" card game I remember our mascot's name being :
FRED E. FALCON
Now he goes by Freddie. . . wonder who is correct here. . .
As to funny Sic Sic signs:
Currently on the Union:
EASTERN WEARS YPSIPANTIES

That was written because their entire student section was chanting B-G-STD over and over again.

That really gets to me when ppl bring that STD crap up. If they knew anything, we were so high b/c there were about 10 schools to actually turn in reports of that. And the most recent study has toledo with the same amount of STDs as BG, and neither are anything over the normal.

That cheer and the BGSU-cks one get on my nerves. Not just because I go to BG, but because they are just old. Other students at different schools can't be creative it seems. No, OU girls are easy was not creative but from this kids experiences and from what others have said, it was the truth.

BGSUcks is jsut dumb. Turns out there are about a million othere state universities that you can add 'cks' too and it works. Way to come up with a global insult. That jsut saying like "You are gonna lose" or "<insert name> sucks" or "go team". you are right metz, people need some creativity.
WHen I went up to the michigan basketball game last year, and their students chant "you will mis, you will miss" over and over when the opponent is at the line I thought that was funny. Bacn3 and I brought it back to BG and use it now. The best part is that if they dotn miss, they gthrow in a "you still suck" at the end of all the 'you will miss'es.
