Former BGSU student-athletes who received athletic aid, entered the University from 1988-89 thru 1997-1998, and exhausted their eligibility achieved a 93% graduation rate according to latest figures released by the NCAA. The total, which represented 401 student athletes, is the highest in the Mid-American Conference.

"I am very proud that our scholarship athletes recognized the opportunity they had and took advantage of it," said BGSU Athletics Director Paul Krebs. "Historically, the entire academic community at BGSU and our department have worked well to help young men and women juggle the demands of obtaining a quality education and competing at the Division I level."

BGSU was joined by Miami (92%), Ohio (92%) and Western Michigan (92%) as MAC school's who had a similar graduation rate above 90% in the MAC.

This really isn't surprising news from our athletic dept, though it is nice to see that at BG athletes really are STUDENT - athletes and not athletes-Students like they are at some other schools.

Congrats to all of the MAC schools who have 90% and better grad. rates!!

Great job, Falcons. At BG, we want to win AND graduate! As usual, we can be proud of our programs.
