Huh. :? Stilll doesn't tell us much. So he's going to play both ways now? Is our depth at DE that bad? Yikes. Hammb appears more and more like a frickin' genius everyday.

I have seen no evidence proving that Odro will be playing TE still...he has been playing DE since the winter, every practice, and during the spring practices. Maybe thats just so he can learn the position since he already is used to the TE position. But, I have yet to hear/see him playin offense since winter practices started.

I'm gonna assume Big Lou might know what he's talking about though...I mean they are related.

BL..when I said Reike and Scheidler must look good I didn't mean to suggest they were looking better than Sean...just that they perhaps looked good enough to make the switch possible.

On the bright side of things...if he takes to the position it could improve his prospects for playing at the next level. The demand for DE's with some athleticism and size is greater than the demand for TE's

It could also be a sign of McCall changing the offense from the run first to a pass first offense. Back in the days of Jacobs and Harris when we passed a lot more, the TE position was not much utilized, so a guy as athletic as Sean may be better suited at DE. The TE position became more utilized with the run offense. That would be cool to go back to the offense which put up insane numbers ...

SOME MORE INFORMATON TO PONDER......NEW COACH'S, NEW IDEAS, NEW POSITIONS......CHANGE IS GOOD......DIDN'T THE "D" LOSE TWO "DE'S"? NOT FROM LAST YEAR BUT, BEFORE? ALSO, TO MY KNOWLEDGE, "88" WAS A "DE" AND A "TE".....RECRUITED IN BOTH POSITIONS......MAYBE THE FALCONS ARE GOING BACK TO THE JOSH HARRIS DAYS......USING THE "TE" CLOSE TO THE GOAL LINE.....REMEMBER OHIO STATE GAME?????.....THIS IS TIME FOR THE COACH'S TO HUNT FOR NEW IDEAS.....LETS SEE WHAT HAPPENS......REMEMBER, TRYING NEW THINGS IS BETTER THAN KEEPING OLD THINGS THAT DIE.....NOTHING AT THIS TIME IS SOLID.....WE NEED CHANGE AND WE HAVE IT......FOR NOW......

I'm for whatever gets up the most "W's"!!! Sean seems to be pretty athletic to me, with pretty good size. Maybe he'll be playing Iron Man football and taking snaps on both sides of the ball!

Whenever someone types with the caps lock on, I find myself giving that person's opinions more credence. So authoritative.

I'm sure the coach would much rather have a player step in to a roll to fill a weakness, than stay in a strong position with depth. We need Senior leadership on De and depth at line. We got 2 back to back winnable BIG 10 games to start the season. We will need depth to stay healthy early. Besides isnt the QB situation a more pressing matter?

it just makes me feel like they're angry. this may or may not have been the case here, but it was a very well thought out post with very legitimate points. props to that, whether it be in caps or not

Mike Birch former football manager I was standing next to said some words to 'Odro and he mentioned he was now practicing only with DE's now. So thats got to be as official as anything I'd say. Looking back on this, I can say now that if this move actually helps our D-line dominate the LOS, I'm all for it.
