I second that. There probably wasn't 12,000 people there. I am appalled. There weren't even very many students there. I just don't know what to say. When you can sit out at a night game at the end of October and only need a sweatshirt, why the heck can't people come to the game? It is past the point of being disgusting, appalling, etc, I am just sad that we have such a great team and no one os coming out to watch them.

Wow, and there were people here talking about at least 20K, maybe 25K. Sad to hear that we didn't get a big turnout for this game. What was the official number?

Again....we can probably thank NIU. If we would have beaten NIU, I promise we'd have had more people there today. Unlike us on this board, I think a lot of people have given up after we lost to NIU. It's a shame, but I'm afraid it's having an impact and we (BG) deserve better.

Well, I was really disappointed in the attendance. I know its a crappy game, and I have lower expectations than most people. But this team deserves better attendance than this.
Note: Final offical figure was 10,700. Blackney era stuff.

I know I was predicting a much bigger number, but that all went out the window when I drove past the stadium last night and saw a grand total of
THREE frickin' tents up in the Meijer Tailgate Park.
THREE!!!! in case you didn't hear me, there were
THREEE!!!! tents in the tailgate park. I think the men's soccer team could have pulled in that many and they were terrible.

Looking out my window now and seeing hundreds of students dressed up in Halloween costumes makes me think maybe that is why attendance sucked. I think too many students rather drink and cross-dress (there are 27 cross-dressed in my parking lot right now, I just counted) than go to a freaking football game! Besides a couple hundred of us, I think it's safe to say most BG students lack school spirit. Some how the school needs to change that. If you aren't proud to be going here and supporting your athletic teams while you can get in FREE, I say you shouldn't be on this campus at all!

There's five teams in the MAC this year worth crossing the street to watch (BG, UT, NIU, MUr, MUg). The rest of the league is mind numbingly awful.
I would rather be tied to a rock like Prometheus so an eagle can eat my liver every day than watch Ball State play EMU.
Unfortuantely, I don't see the situation improving much in the next few years. Kelly may turn CMU around, but does anyone believe that EMU, Buffalo, Kent, Ohio and WMU are going to be orth watching next year?
Hopefully, we'll get to stay in the West so we'll have UT and NIU on the home sked instead of BSU and EMU...

I was disappointed in the attendance as well. I went to both the hockey and football games and I must say, attendance at both was very weak. Both teams won today...they deserve a lot more than what they got from the fans.
A big thanks to the students that stayed the whole game...it was well worth it! I had a good time!

I say marketing is very weak...if they don't know when our games are played what should make us think that the fans should know? Plain pitful job by marketing tonight.
Unbelieavable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW!!

Is all I can say. Can't belieave we actually got more people at cold ,windy and rain-soaked game 2 weeks ago. It was in the high 50's by game time and fairly sunny out , no rain and this is what we get?

What the heck!! I think BGSU33 is right , the NIU loss I think totally took out the rest of the fans that have to drive a ways to get here. It seems most people have totally given up and don't feel like driving 2 or 3 hours to see us expectedly beat up EMU. That NIU loss is likley the culprit for these ridiculous attendance numbers. Amazing what one game can do to alot of our support around here. Its obvious people are figuring out what that one game at NIU meant to our real chances of making it to the championship game or a bowl game. I guess the far away fans just don't see us going anywhere post-season unless alot of things go are way , which rarely do.

Maybay just maybae the weather doesn't have much to do with our attendance as we thought. Think about this, OSU is very down this year , but all they have to do is win 2 more games this year and they go bowling and all their fans know it. Pathetic.

Marketing, Marketing, Marketing. I watched the Miami video posted here earlier in the week and I was excited to go to that game, and I won't even be there. You spend all this money to buy a new logo for the team, get new uniforms, and the SAC, maybe this could be a good assignment for the marketing students...

Ya know, I wasn't going to comment on this and Major Falcon and I discussed this the whole night...along with BGSU 99 and 96.
I can only make sure Mrs Freak, the Freaklings and myself are at the games. My mom and dad, both '64 BG grads, made the trip up cuz the weather was pretty nice. Maybe it was too windy for some
folks...
Whatever the f*%*ing excuse, I am sick and tired of not seeing 25,000 in the stands for any and every game. We have one of the most exciting teams in the country and we couldn't pull 11,000 for this game yesterday? I'll tell ya what...If Coach Brandon gets tired of this (and I know he cannot be happy at all) look out. I'd really hate to lose the guy cuz we can't get freakin butts in the seats.
And we can't blame OSU for this cuz they played at noon. 3 tents in tent city? The blame there falls squarely on the athletic dept and the "marketing" dept. We didn't get to TG yesterday due to the boys T OR T at Grandma's but when we were pulling off 75 at 5:00 I was shocked to see so few cars.
I don't know what else to say. I'm preaching to the chior here.
It shouldn't matter who we're playing...for crying out loud we had over 23,000 for SEMO...a 1-AA team! And I don't buy this losing to NIU stuff. Ball State almost beat them yesterday and UCF came within10 seconds of beating them. There are still games to be played. Until the dust clears and the division winner is clear, nothing is set in stone.
On the positive side, had a fantastic time with Falcon Fanatic, BG Fan, Class of 61, BGSU 99 & 96, H20Falcon77 (Pumpkinhead!) and my man MajorFalcon. And the Wicked witch of the West side didn't show up last night!! That was a plus!
BG is 6-2, 4-1 MAC with 3 left. C everyone next Sat at 10 am!
GO FALCONS!!!

Why is it that we spent so much money on billboards and other advertisments last year when we had a product (ranked) that sold itself? Now I don't live to NWO anymore, but when I have been back in town I have not seen any billboards up at all. We should have Omar and Keon plastered all over the place!
YEAH! , WHERE ARE THE BILL BOARDS???

I remember those billboards too, with Josh Harris on the front. We need some billboards with O4 on it or Keon or Cole. I agree we are doing sucking job of selling BG football around here. We need more than a few small posters around BG business , although it helps a little. Someboy get a billboard advertising the football team right on I-75 and or RT.25 somewhere. Who would be responsible for somethhing like this? This is getting ridiculous.
