1959 was a very good year

As I posted yesterday at AZZBlog, I've spent the past few months messing around with a pet project, and now, you, the Falcon masses, can find the results for every BG football game ever played in one easy to use location.

http://results.bgsusports.com/football

There's still a little work to be done on design and features, and suggestions are always welcome (corrections, too, though I think the data is all checked out now), but with the Spring Game coming up, I felt this was as good a time as any to roll this puppy out without having to wait until September.

Enjoy!

Shame about Brigham Young and Toledo in 1983.

What a cool tool that is TG1996. And it all works! I think azz.com was fine yesterday until it saw me coming, and today everything I have touched has turned to dust. Will you come over here and fix all my problems, please?

We're 2-0 against both Purdue and Northwestern

AH! I thought I made a mistake and that's why you pointed those out... WHEW! No mistakes, and yes, we are 2-0 against each of them, possibly four of the most exciting games in BG history, too!

Tony,
Great job! According to what I perused quickly, I experienced a grand total of FOUR losses and TWO ties, with the rest all WINS during my 4 yrs. at BG (1957-61)..... Think I got spoiled a bit....and most of the other sports, i.e. Wrestling, B-Ball, Swimming etc. had similar success, though not as great as Doyt's teams.

Thanks Den!

One of my next thoughts was to make it searchable over a range of dates, or even select individual years from the drop down, as well as individual days of the year (aside from the "today in history" feature).

Sorry if I confused you at first. I didn't go to the 1972 game at Purdue, but remember my roommate (at the "new" Offenhauer West) and I celebrated until the wee hours.

O + B,
I was there, along with four of my friends, who stuffed themeselves into my '67 Valiant.... after the game, it was announced that there would be a victory party for BG, sponsored by the alum. assoc., I believe...We went there, all about 2feet above the ground from the game...left after a couple of hours, got stuck going THRU Indianapolis via a detour on the Interstate, stopped to eat... I got to the OHIO border and couldn't keep my eyes open any more( the adrenaline was obviously wearing off)...a friend drove as far as Mansfield, then HE needed to rest. By the time I dropped everyone off, we'd been awake or semi-awake for about 26 hrs.!
That was the end of going on these trips without an overnite stay...Syracuse was next on our agenda and the overnite stay was the best idea we'd ever had...not to mention beating the "orangemen".

Thanks G!

And I believe it's my understanding that "once I get the information in the database, I can do anything with it!" or something like that...
