Is Turner a Falcon or not?

All rumors aside, can anyone say for sure if Turner will be at BG and if he has qualified or not?

My source knew nothing about Leady and Cincinnati nor Turner not being qualified...only that when we first got the verbal from Turner that him not qualifying was a possibility only.

My only source stated that there was no indicated problem with any test scores.
Then he said perhaps Leady meant to say Thurman instead of Turner.

Also knew nothing about Sharon rumor, which was actually presented on this board in the typical fashion of a UT student worried about their dwindling DL.

I hope that is what Leady meant, I hope he was referring to Thurman instead of Turner. That would make more sense and it would help me relax a little bit. I also hope the Sharon thing was just a fluke too.

Folks, relax! As I posted elsewhere, Anthony Turner is fully qualified and will compete for the number 2 QB position from day one (my view). A redshirt would be much preferred; I'm just saying I believe he is that talented.

Great kid per all I've spoken to; super athlete via game action, Big 33 game and state bball tourney run.

That's the best news I've heard in awhile! This is much more pleasing to my ears than what was first reported. I sure hope it's correct. Gathering from what I have heard, this kid is a helluva talent!

Don't jump on Leady just yet

My bet is that Leady actually told the reporter Thurman and he (or his editors) mistakenly reported Turner.

As I said before...it really makes no sense since Leady won't be here this year with Turner anyway...and if Turner did not make it this year he would certainly have the opportunity to make it next year when Leady gets here...hopefully!!

I certainly understand how this young Leady could make this comment about other's eligibility. The misinformation or premature information could have come from many, many sources. This board has been worried about this untrue rumor (later rather sooner I realize).

I give this 17 year old plenty of lee way. Her's a young guy asked to comment on an important decision to media people etc. That is difficult. If we offered him and he accepted, I sure hope he comes here and plays. If, for some reason he decommits, I wish him well. I don't like the behavior or change of thinking, but....I certainly hope he becomes a Falcon as I understand he is a talented young man.

I'm just saying 17 year olds need a little break.

Go AT and Leady!

IF Turner hadn't qualified academically and I were his parents I would have asked to have his tuition to Dayton CJ last year refunded. There is no reason that any one from private school should ever not get good enough grades to participate in extra curriculars.

As we have seen from the practice picture Turner is in camp.

What I have heard is that he originally did not qualify due to low ACT scores. But he retook the ACTs and as of last week his scores came in and were high enough to qualify.

Corey played against AT his junior year in the first round of the state playoffs. He was a very effective QB, but did have a great running back to take the pressure off. I hope he turns out to be everything we hope for. Good luck to him.

Corey called me and said his first day of practice went well and they killed him in the weight room..lol... He is real excited and looking forward to the season.

Go Falcons!

Thanks. That helps to tie everything together on the story. Glad he made it, even if it was close.
