I personally think that it was the '03 Falcons.

What's your problem? Every time that game is mentioned you wanna pin the loss solely on Craig Jarrett. I'll say it again so you get it....It was a TEAM loss. No one play decided the outcome. Had Jarrett made the catch, BG would still have been down 17-14, jackass.
Then again, you think NC High School football is superior to OH HS football.
The 2003 team was better, no question.

The 03 and 04 teams were good teams while I would argue the the 91, 92, and even the 94 teams were better and arguably great teams.
As to the Ohio State game how about the final BG offensive play of the game in which we attempted a deep pass in the end zone a DB who hadn't caught a pass all game and who was giving up at least 5 inches and inevitably had the ball picked off. That to me is more frustrating than a dropped pass or missed tackle earlier in the game.

Two separate plays, and there was a handful of Patton's jersey involved in the first one.
As for the "both played in bowl games!!" qualifier... the best team in BG history didn't play in a bowl game.

It will be some time before we have a team like either of those again, a long time.

That is exactly what the
cheap seat experts were saying just before the Urban renewal occurred in BG. You must have been sitting in the area of my adopted season tickets back in the late 90's up to the conclusion of the Blackney reign (back when you could stretch out and take a nap high in the bleachers at the 50 on the west side).
Glad you were wrong then and I hope you are wrong again. We're still 0-0 and hope should run rampant this time of the year. New home turf with a sparkling SEBO and plenty of lessons learned from last year.
What more can be said......
GO BG!

What do you mean two seperate plays? Wasn't the final offensive play of the game for BG a deep pass to the front corner of the endzone intended for Pattton but picked off?
If memory serves, he hadn't caught a collegiate pass at the time and was on the field with three of our all time best recievers (Magner, Sharon, and Sanders).

The way I remember it is that is picked off in the middle field, around 30 yard line or so because one of OSU's linebackers intercepted and time ran out as he was running around. The pass to Patton was before that.
And blaming that game on Jarrett is just stupid. Maybe he catches that pass and we end up losing 31-14. Or maybe we win. Who knows. I do know that didn't decide the outcome.

They threw the deep pass for Patton, but it was incomplete (off some hands) in the corner of the end zone. The next play, Josh scrambled a bit, but put it up and got picked around the 15 (edit: 28) to end the game.

I believe it was Will Allen, a c.b., that made the pick.
