"Doyt Perry" screen shot

It would've been nice if they would have taken the time to use the real Doyt Perry Stadium. Rather than the usual carbon copy of another stadium.

All the screen shots

I don't have xbox, I have PS2, and they've always had versions of the Doyt that were pretty close, at least for the grandstands. The endzone sections have been off sometimes, but it looks much more like the Doyt than the image for the link above. I wonder if the Sebo will make it into the game this year for the PS version of the game?

I doubt that the PS2 release will be getting many updates this year at all. They'll put the game out there. It'll have new rosters. They MIGHT even put the new gameplay features in there. I'd be really surprised though if they went out of their way to change all the stadium models though. Graphically I'd expect it to be pretty much identical to previous releases. This will quite likely be the final version on that system, I doubt EA is going to put a bunch of resources into keeping it current this year.

It's disappointing that the real Doyt is not in this year's 360 version. The reason why it wasn't in last years was due to all the extra detail that was used in the 360 version's stadium models. They said they only had time to do about 40-50 stadiums, but supposedly they wanted all of them done by this year's release. The stadiums that got the full treatment were amazing last year...I really hope that we're just one of the last ones and they don't completely scrap the concept of rendering all the D1A stadiums.

I wish that was the view from the SEBO someday. That packed with endzone closed like that.

Only in my dreams, or on XBOX.

Yeah, I don't get it. Older versions are actually a lot closer to the real thing. What gives?

Like I said, the new version has a LOT more stadium detail than any previous versions have. Rather than slap together a crappy version of the real Doyt, they are using a generic bowl stadium as a placeholder for all the teams in the game that have yet to get the "full treatment" for their stadiums. Last year's stories were saying they hoped to have all the D1A stadiums fully implemented by this year, but that's not looking like the case now. Now they're saying that 90 teams will have accurate stadiums (plus the bowl games) accounting for a total of 115 accurate stadiums.

I would expect that the '09 version will finally have an accurate Doyt.

Honestly, the solution to this problem? Win. Win a lot. Gain publicity. The past couple years our program has gone completely out of the limelight, and things like this are some of the ramifications.

The game sounds amazing though. Cannot wait to pick it up.

The only plus side of this is for NCAA 2009, if they do finish all of the D1 stadiums, they will have the Doyt perfect. They take the images during the season, so the Sebo (fully done) and the field turf would not be in the game for the 360 if they put it in this year. Also, they would get the logo right.

Now they will supposedly take the images during this season so the Doyt will look more realistic in NCAA 09.

True.

I wonder if it's even possible that they pushed it back a year knowing that we were undergoing so many stadium changes?

I doubt it, not for little ol' BG.

So when did BGSU move the Big House down to Bowling Green from Ann Arbor and change the endzone and midfield logos? Why was I not aware of this change??? :D

I have PS3 which IMO is better than 360 so I'm hopping it doesnt look as stupid as that pic, but it probably will. I'm not surprised though, we went 4-8 last year and click on SEBO Cam if you want to see what our stadium looks like right now (crap). I'm thinking they aren't going to fix the Doyt in the video game until a good while after its been fixed in real life!

I guarantee the 360 & PS3 versions will be nearly identical. There may be subtle differences in gameplay or graphics, but the games will be identical. I believe they are actually building the PS3 version as a port of the 360 version, but I'm not positive (last generation always had Xbox built as a port of the PS2 version, until the last couple years).

Either way, unless there are some quirky bugs the games will be identical, and the stadium will assuredly look exactly like that picture.

It's too bad you feel PS3 is better than 360...you're missing out on Gears of War...

Yeah I'm pretty sure they will look identical, but when I first had that thought I started hearing the audio to "do you believe in miracles" from the TV I had on, so I thought well you never know for sure.

I'm really happy with my PS3, one of my biggest loves that the general public doesn't care about (other than BG Football) is Formula 1 Racing. PS3 has a game out for F1 and I'm pretty sure it's not on 360. Either way I have literally cried from how realistic the cars and tracks look and the gameplay is so realistic its scary.

But I'm pretty dang excited for NCAA 08 too even without the right stadiums. At least they got the right player on the cover this year! That high school playoff mode should be sweet as well!

The Ball State Stadium looks PERFECT, way better than on last year's game. Also they fixed the Jumbo-tron on Purdue's stadium and also the cuts in the designs of the seats. Super detailed and awesome!
