Game/championship forfeitures are usually the next-to-last sanction brought to a University. The final one is what I like to call the SMU.

That depends on the infraction. Scooter taking gifts in 2004=Scooter is ineligible. UT then forfeits games involving Scooter. It's only fair...they wouldn't have won the damn game without that freight train anyway.

The more the guys family shoots its collective mouths off, the dumber they all look. I don’t know if the articles author intended to leave their comments out there to be joked about, but that was the effect the quotes had.

AGREED! This opinion might not be the most popular on this thread, but I know several UT grads....and I haven't heard good things about Scooter McDougle.
I'm really wondering if this "witch hunt" hasn't come about because there have been suspicions about McDougle doing a lot of things, but there hasn't been enough evidence to pin anything on him.
I've got the impression that this entire mess has come about because the point-shaving and kickback-taking bit is the only thing that they have been able to produce any evidence for.
Like I said, I only bring it up because I have heard some rather not nice things about McDougle. If the stories I have heard are true, this theory might have something to it.
