Am I the only one who is concerned that Omar is no longer listed on Kansas City's roster?

Is he ever going to get a break?

It didn't help him that NFL-E folded.

Omar's shot at playing in the NFL is pretty much done for unless he can do something new to make a name for himself. He's going to need to find another league (Arena, Canada, whatever) and perform there. If he goes to another league and plays well the NFL will give him another look, but he has pretty much already used up his first look at the league.
He got a reputation in Pittsburgh as a guy who couldn't mentally handle the duties of the position. It's going to take performance on some football field to start to shake that reputation.

Well, he did bank 115k just from his signing bonus, and definitely some additional money from his subsequent pro-ish playing days. I'm sure finishing the last year of his degree is still on the table if he decides to stop trying to make a career out of football.

Exactly. His career earnings are probably in the $200-$250k range. BG is still open, so he can always go back to school and finish up his degree.

I hope he does. At this time, his football career doesn't look promising on any front.

At this point he has tried one of 3 possible fronts. I would gamble he will be playing football somewhere for atleast the next 3-4 years.

My guess is there is some kind a roster hassle associated with the NFL-Europe guys. I have spent some time searching and cannot find any transactions where Omar was released from the Chiefs. So I wouldn't be so sure that he is gone just yet.

Any NFL Europe player does not count towards the club's roster until sometime in Late July/Early August. Not sure why he wouldn't appear on that roster, but he wouldn't count against their limit (nor other teams' limits either were he to sign elsewhere). At this point he is a free body on the roster, and there is almost no reason to release him.
As a general rule the only way he would've been released from KC right now was if he asked to be released because he thought he had a better chance to land a roster spot with another club. Most clubs would honor that request if he had made one. If that were the case he would turn up elsewhere before too long, you'd think.
There just isn't much incentive to cut him at this point of the year. He doesn't make any money during the offseason, and he's not counting against their roster limit due to his NFL-E exemption.

I think that is what I am thinking, hammb. The Chiefs may have had a seperate section of their roster where they reported NFL-E guys. Now that the NFL-E doesn't exist, they may have eliminated that from their listed roster without adding the players somewhere else since they don't count yet.
I doubt he is really gone. It would seem to be just a roster reporting classification issue.

Since NFL-E folded, do these players count to the roster NOW? I know that back in the NFL-E days, they were free roster slots, but since it folded, are they still free? Perhaps they now have to be counted, so they just released most of them.
On nfl.com, he's not even listed as a player, so nfl.com updated the rosters to show he's not on the Chiefs as well.

I cannot imagine they'd take the exemption away for this season, but it is possible, I suppose.
