Minnesota had a starting CB arrested on probable cause of "criminal sexual conduct" over the weekend.

The incident actually happened back in April, but was convicted yesterday. For those of you who follow Ohio high school football will recognize the name Dominic Jones. He was a key player for Columbus Brookhaven on their 2004 state championship team.

Technically, he hasn't been
convicted of anything, but was arrested and charged, while his little Gopher buddies sweat their paws off.
I wonder if he'll get anywhere near the stiff suspension Booker Stanley from Wisconsin got for beating that girl up a couple years ago before we played in Madison.

You're right, I don't know why I typed convicted. I meant to say charged. I didn't read the article so it may have mentioned this, but is there any word on when his trial is set to begin? Hopefully a verdict is reached before the season starts so that if he is found not guilty he won't have to sit out any games.

Now you're just ridiculous. You continue to harp on ONE incident, which, by the way, no matter what your stance may be on marijuana use, compares in absolutely no freaking way with doing an unconscious chick and it's old. Very old. Just like everything else you've come up with. Old.

I don't know if Macman is deliberately overstating things to get a rise out of people or if he's really as stupid as the stuff he posts. Given the fact that he's trashing a bunch of college kids in the process...kids who have done nothing to him at all...I don't hink it matters.
Any way you cut it, it's pathetic...

You need to find more productive things to do. LET IT GO.

ah the orange glasses
got to love them
cant see threw the smoke
or the senseless beating
must be good to be you all.
We need to hold these athletes to simple standard. That breaking the law is not acceptable, and that if they do, they are done playing _________ sport. Zero tolerance. If we keep rewarding these kids by letting them not only play, but be paid via scholarships we are not doing anyone any favors. They broke laws, acted stupidly and in a manaor that is unacceptable, by any standard, to weigh more heavily in judgement on one law breaker, thug, or rapist is equally wrong. Because they are all the same.
there is no room in sport for any of them and we should let them know that...now.
Down!
Set
Get high
beat some guy
and rape a girl
lets play football...thats how its done son??????????

MACMAN, you are a moron...Anthony Turner was punished for his crime, which shouldn't even be a crime but that's a whole nother debate. John Floyd was punished as well...he lost his scholarship and eventually, his spot on the team. So don't go around with your "Athletes get away with everything" mentality. Let us not also forget the case of the hockey players who were suspended and then dismissed. You need to get off this kick and focus your attention somewhere else. Did an athlete wrong you at some point in your life? If so, deal with it and move on.

It's tough to argue with Macman's logic, primarily because it's so damn hard to figure out what point he's trying to make. If he could organize his thoughts into something resembling a coherent paragraph, perhaps someone could help him see the light. As it is, that light shines into his left ear and straight out of his right.
But why bother? I had a really big stupid dog when I was a kid. Every day he sit there on his chain and bark at the clouds, passing aircraft, birds and God knows what else. I tried to get him to do normal things like play ball or sit, rollover and fetch, but he wouldn't. It got to be very frustrating until it dawned on me that he was just a big stupid dog and expecting him to be anything else or to aspire to be anything else was just a waste of time.

Shouldnt be a crime and is a crime are two different things.
Pot posession and use are crimes, and therefore he should have booted off the team.
Parks is a thug with clearly no judgement or consideration for being a good person, he has no dignity and beat another man for no reason, which assult and battery are crimes, he should be off the team.
this rape deal in Minnesota is the same thing a crime
any athlete at any univ who gets more than the equivalent of a traffic ticket should be off.
I really can not see why in the world you all are defending these guys, I feel so very bad for you all, and ask where do you draw the line?
Oh wait I know....its easy to draw it when looking at a school your not a fan of, but for your own hes such a nice guy, give him a break.
pathetic.
