No fewer than SEVEN BG games on TV this year. I hope we make an outstanding impression.

Yeah, really. It seems in recent years, when we've appeared on TV, we've come out on the short end of things on the scoreboard. Then again, that's also pretty much been the trend the last couple years whether we've been on TV or not. Man do I hope we can get back to what things were like only a few short years ago. Those years from 2001-2004 were just awesome and while they weren't that long ago, they seem so far away. I guess a 4-8 season including getting doubled up by Temple will do that to you.

I had seen else where that the Minnesota game was going to be on the Big Ten Network. I am going to have to look around for that again.

Ok, I found it on the BTN website. Check this article out.

The 2nd paragraph talks about the official launch and mentions the Minnesota game being broadcast in primetime and in High Def.

Hmmm...by the article Spart posted, BTN has an agreement with DirectTV but I don't see anything for Dish Network. Hopefully I'll be able to find the Minnesota and Mich State games on my system somewhere. If not, I won't be able to watch the Minny game due to my BIL's wedding reception and we'll be in East Lansing.
GREAT to see BG on TV seven times in the regular season. Gotta get recording supplies soon...
The Miami game is 3 PM. I like that since it's a 4 hour drive to Oxford from Green.
BTW, what is the "WSFJ/Ohio package"? BG is only on that channel once vs Ohio but I'm curious to see what that is...
GO FALCONS!!!

Mike,
I've got a large stack of video tapes (unopened/unused)...you can have them if you want...they're just sitting here in our house taking up space. Let me know how many you need...I'll be happy to be the dealer for you. Better than paying for them in a store, right?

Dish Network just filed a complaint with the FCC stating that the Big Ten Network was price gouging. I'd guess that you won't be seeing the BTN on Dish for a while (if ever).

Well, that answers that question. Maybe someone will help the Freak out and get those on tape for me. If not, no big deal.
Den,
I'll be glad to take them off your hands! I figure I'll need at least 5...let me know when's a good time to swing by after work!

Uh, oh....
Reading this article doesn't bode well for me and maybe many others in Ohio.

Whenever the Big Ten Network is producing more than one game airing at the same time, the network will split the feeds regionally among cable operators to allow Big Ten fans to watch the game with the most regional interest.
Well, here are the two games being broadcast at the same time on Sept. 1st.
Bowling Green at Minnesota, 8 p.m. EDT/7 p.m. CDT
Indiana State at Indiana, 8 p.m. EDT/7 p.m. CDT
Which one do you think they will show in Cincinnati or even the rest of Ohio?
I am afraid we may see the Indiana game. My thoughts are that when they say "the game with the most regional interest" they mean the Big Ten Team with the most regional interest.
There is one ray of hope here:
cable and satellite providers that have agreed to carry the network will be offered the chance to carry the additional games via “overflow” channels.
Maybe both games will come thru with BG on the overflow channel.

I heard on the radio that the Big 10 commish ripped Comcast. Comcast has also said that Big 10 Newtwork was price gouging.
I have Directv, they will probably charge more to get it, instead of adding it to the sport package.

Damn! We could be looking at the same thing happening the following week. Here are the games:
Saturday, September 8
Akron at Ohio State, Noon EDT/11 a.m. CDT
Nevada at Northwestern, Noon EDT/11 a.m. CDT
Bowling Green at Michigan State, Noon EDT/11a.m. CDT
Miami (Ohio) at Minnesota, Noon EDT/11 a.m. CDT
Eastern Illinois at Purdue, Noon EDT/11 a.m. CDT
My bet is all of ohio will see Akron at Ohio State and not the BG/MSU game. I guess I am going to have to call all my friends around the country and see if they can tape the game for me.
I am also going to call Direct TV and see what they know about it.

I can guarandamntee you that all of Ohio will get the OSU game in the second scenario.
I think you're probably right about getting the Indiana game for the first week as well.
The Big 10 network likely is a bad thing for most college football fans. What's funny is that most Big 10 fans REALLY hate the thing. Basically they could already watch pretty much every Big 10 game they ever wanted between the different networks. Now they're relying on their cable/satellite operator to pick up this new network which will certainly charge a fortune to the carriers.

No doubt in my mind that's what will happen. All of Ohio will get UA/OSU...even a better reason to make the trip to East Lansing for BG/MSU!
GO FALCONS!
