I am always amazed how quickly some forget when their facilities were less than amazing.

Do I remember BG having a digital clock on the scoreboard nearly 20 years before Miami got one?

Do I remember BG having stadium seating(with limited pitch of course) when Miami was using a high school style grandstand?

I guess times have changed. The little town in NW Ohio with burger chains, a digital scoreboard clock and a 20 year old stadium back in the mid-80's has fallen behind. Now Oxford has stepped it up and they probably have chain restraunts to go with their fancy stadium that exceeds all the features of the once mighty Doyt. :P

My prediction is that if Yeager is maintained, yet not renovated over the next 20 years it will be the Doyt of 2027. In my opinion that's not so bad but I'm sure people will be hollering for renovations. I think this is one thing that BG fans must remember when complaining about the neglect of the past was that at one time the Doyt was one of the best in the MAC. People were actually thrilled to see such a nice facility for a mid-major.

It is still my favorite. :D

True... I remember that old campus stadium at Miami...I sort of saw McClure and co play there in 1982. (I was in Oxford visiting my girlfriend....never did make it to the stadium, but the game was on TV) that little stadium was a dump. Even when they built the current one it looked like crap until they finally got around to fininshing it a few years ago.

I suspect that the Doyt will see some more structural work when the Convo center gets built south of the stadium...assuming they build it south of the stadiumm...

Surprised no one has really mentioned this yet, but can someone PLEASE CUT DOWN THAT STUPID TWISTED GOALPOST NETTING IN FRONT OF THE SEBO?!?!?!?!?

I seriously doubt the stupid thing is salvageable anyway after being exposed to the elements for a whole year.

It's just going to take awhile to get it "untwisted." We won't get rid of them because Allstate helped us out in buying the net and poles. The problem was that the net was allowed to move around too freely. They need to anchor down the bottom part of the net and re-attach the pulleys to the top of the net. I don't suppose actually getting someone trained how to do it wouldn't hurt either.

Well, I have my Redhawks season tickets on the way. And going to Oxford to watch the game is a blast, but until the new east stands were constructioned, concessions at Yager sucked. I also hate how all the pre-game activities are up the hill at Milleti instead down next to the stadium. Parking can be a crap shoot...... I hate how the south endzone has been made into this wonderful entry experience and there is not a parking lot to serve it (I don't count parking in the field down the road). Plus, most people enter at the east gate. Both stadiums could use an upgrade in seating. Get rid of the bench seating for season ticket area (mid section west stadium).

So there are things I like about Yager and things I like about Doyt.... neither is perfect, but both are home
