Nice article on Coach Ward. He's one good guy and deserves his chance at being DC.

Freddie was hobbled a bit last year...is this a continuing injury or a new one...does Freddie have injury issues? Bad news about Cheatem's shoulder, I am looking forward to seeing him go to work.
The emergence of Willie Geter appears to have impacted Dan Macon the most...Macon has indeed moved to WR. We've recruited a BUNCH of WR's over the past couple of years but we picked up two JUCO guys and moved a RB over there this summer. I guess some of the incumbents didn't show coach Bird or Brandon a lot during spring and summer ball.
What's up with Eric Ransom? How bad is that hammy. Coach Brandon is pretty good about answering emails...maybe I'll shoot him one with a a few questions.....like who's gonna start at QB. I can't believe Ryan and the guys form WCWA didn't touch on that issue at all.

It was great to see Coach Ward get this promotion! I'm glad he did cuz he's busted his tail for this program for years. Interesting news about Macon...Geter must be da bomb.
I'm sure we can find out some info this Sat at Perry Stadium. Looking forward to the event.

I've seen Freddie around campus and he has said he will be fine to go. I certainly hope he's right!

16 years? That's a long time to be with one program. Seems like he is an old-school guy who is tough yet fair with the players. Hopefully the defense will reflect that and play tougher this season, especially against the run.

Coach Ward is as hard working a coach as any you'll ever meet. He has indeed earned his chance at DC, and regardless of anything else, I'm sure this is only the start of good things for him.
