Interesting. I wonder how patient GB will be with him.

What I've been wondering for a while is if we're gonna use a 2 qb set this year like Urban Meyer is so famous for. After all, GB was the offensive coordinator that engineered that scheme, I wonder if he plans on using something similar to utilize Turner's mobility. The guy is a real talent and it would be a shame if he hardly ever gets in.

Sheehan hit my son in the nose with a pass at the Kickoff event on Saturday. My son is six. That's no excuse. He better be working on his accuracy or my son will pee in the shower again.

Knock 'em dead, Tyler. I had a chance to talk with him Sat for a couple minutes. Well spoken young man and I met his Grandmother, Edna, as well. Don't let her fool you...she KNOWS football. It was very nice talking with her.

If Tyler has indeed improved as Ryan stated in the Blade, that is great news. He will still be only a Soph so there will be mistakes. But if he can lead this team down the field, minimize the miscues and put points on the board, our D will do the rest. I'm sayin' it again...our D is gonna knock the stuffing outta other teams. They are all business and ready to lay the wood.

I hope the staff gets AT on the field somewhere...

GO FALCONS!!!! Less than 123 hours...or 7,380 minutes...or 442,800 seconds.

I think this is the right decision. Hopefully, Tyler has progressed a great deal in his decision-making. This is a great opportunity for him, and we need him to capitalize on it.

I have a bad feeling he'll be on a short leash, though. I hope it doesn't get ugly.

Congrats to Tyler, I'm sure he is ready for the responsibility of leading this team to victory. I would imagine AT will get some time as a RB of some sort, maybe in a split back formation or something. Either way, the decision has been made and we should support Tyler as much as we can, he's here for a reason and I have faith in him to get the job done.

This week is gonna take a long time, I just know it.

Fine with me. Now tell the kid he's the starter and let him play for at least the first half of the season with no looking over his shoulder. When he makes a mistake give the ball back to him. Let him feel confident that he has the coaches' confidence. As Tyler Sheehan goes, so go the 2007 BGSU Falcons.

Edited to add:

Kudos to Gregg Brandon, too, BTW. It's not easy to bench the incumbent for a true Sophomore at QB. I'm glad that he's going to play the guy who he feels is the best QB. He better be right, however, or it's going to get ugly around here...

Good luck to Tyler...he went into camp and won the job. Let's put that strong arm to use and get back to hitting some 15 yard outs and working that deep middle.

I hope AT keeps his focus and stays ready. As 2005 showed us, you need to have a capable, ready back up if you want to contend.

So far as our neighbors to the north go...I think Opelt has the better skillset to run that offense...and for a really smart kid Cochran seemed to throw into coverage a bit last year in the games I saw.

I'd go with Opelt...I can't believe we passed on him

I want to say AT was in great spirits Sat evening...after throwing some passes to the Freaklings and posing for a pic, AT said "This is gonna be a big year for us. We're ready to play" and meant it. I know this is gotta be hard for him but AT is still a FALCON and I hope he gets on the field somewhere. He's got too much talent not to be on the field somewhere.

I'm excited to see what Sheehan can do after the off season, spring drills and summer camp.

GO FALCONS!
