The Browns announced some cuts today and 2 WR's were cut, neither of which was Steve Sanders. He is really impressing the coaches in practice and the games. Hopefulle he'll get some good playing time on Thursday against the Bears. He is doing great and I wish him the best of luck!

Hm, I thought first cuts would have been a week ago. Isn't this the 4th week of pre-season?

This is the next to last cut....They actually still have to cut 1 more by 4pm today, and then 22 on top of that by Saturday.

According to the PD, the cuts: kicker Jesse Ainsworth, cornerback Therrian Fontenot, defensive end Orien Harris, receiver Mike Mason, receiver Kendrick Mosley, tight end Buck Ortega, punter Kyle Basler, defensive lineman Alvin Smith, receiver Efrem Hill, fullback J.R. Niklos and defensive back Justin Sandy.
I'm guessing the next roster move will be putting Baxter on the IR.
WR still on the roster:
Tim Carter, Josh Cribbs, Braylon Edwards, Joe Jurevicius, Maurice Mann, Steve Sanders, Syndric Steptoe, Travis Wilson
As hammb has repeatedly pointed out, the Sandman is facing an uphill battle. But he's obviously making the most of the opportunity.

It has helped immensely that Tim Carter & Travis Wilson haven't been able to catch crabs in a Tijuana whorehouse thus far in camp. Going in I thought there was no chance that Wilson got cut, and since they gave up Droughns I thought Carter had an inside track as well.
As camp has played out it looks as though Wilson definitely does not have a spot locked up. Leaving only 3 spots completely in stone (Edwards, JJ, and Cribbs). I think they'll only keep 5 WRs, giving those other 5 guys 2 spots to battle for. In the end I still think Wilson makes the team. Sanders has gotten a lot of great comments from the coach, so that's a good sign.
However, the fact that he basically didn't even play in the Denver game is, I think, a sign of their plans. It looks to me like they really like Sanders, and they sat him out the last game to hide him from the rest of the league. I fully expect him to be a prime candidate for the practice squad. That said, if he has a great week of practice making the final 53 is certainly not out of the question.

My boss just yelled at me for laughing so loudly. Sorry, it couldn't be helped after that one.
