Mick McCall.....overdue appreciation...

Post by Flipper »

J5 was a QB that started his college career as a TB...Mick coached him up and made him and all MAC level guy.

Omar Jacobs was really raw...Mick found a way to get him to run our offense at an all mac level..if not All american.

Sheehan looks to have come a loooooooong way in a year with Mick working with him.

Seems like he's gonna do a good job as OC too....

Yep.

It's a shame that Turner has never really developed, but all the other QBs under his tutelage have made pretty big strides in their time under coach McCall. The thing that really impressed me about Sheehan last night was the accuracy. He was erratic last year, but last night not only did he complete a good deal of his passes, he was hitting the guys in stride and giving them an opportunity for yards after the catch.

I'm more enthused about the way the offensive playcalling went last night though. Opened the offense back up and put up some points.

They couldn't stop us last night. We slowed ourselfs down with some drops and penalties, but THEY COULD NOT STOP OUR OFFENSE! Man it feels good to say that!

We just need to stop being so DAMNED conservative in the third quarter when we have a big lead. We should have kept with the same things that got us up 21-0 and made it 35-0. But thats a coaching thing and all in all if it gets fixed next week who cares. It's a great day to be a Falcon!

Agreed, Flip. Coach McCall does a fabulous job with the QB's. Sheehan looked like a totally different player last night.

Boy, he sure did look like a different player. It was astounding. Can't wait to see more.
