Brad,
I think the reports indicated THREE laterals on that last play, not six....(but who's counting?)

It sure seemed like way more than 3. I would have guessed 5. Of course my DVD ran out after the 1st play on our last drive. I didnt get the new one in until OT. So basically I only missed like 7 plays and the insane lateral play happens to be one of them!
4th & 13 on PU 32yd line.. 56,000 fans up on their feet screaming, i held my breath the entire play trying to make as little noise as possible.. wouldnt u know Sharon would make the biggest touchdown catch in the history of BG Football, FALCON UP!

That was one hell of a fun play to watch. For a second or two, I really thought BG was going to score! Only needed another 32 yards.

Reading one "eyewitness account" (I think it was the somewhat amusing "Carle-Blog"), Smith was one cut away from breaking it. Wouldn't THAT have been something?

I really thought if he had turned it upfield just a bit sooner he would have been able to break it. Can't blame him and it doesn't matter now, but it looked like it was possible.

I heard it was locked away in the Time-Life vault with the Zapruder film.

Or maybe it was the Disney vault with Song of the South.

Or perhaps the Big Ten Network vault with that woman's awful post game recap.

Actually I was yelling at them to take a knee. I was afraid one of those crazy laterals might go the otherway for a winning score for the Gophers. Plus, I wanted my defense to get some rest rather than chasing a very unlikely, low-percentage play that tired out already weary legs even more.

Take a knee and take your shot in OT.

I gotta argue with that one. I believe the momentum on that return energized the entire team and gave them that extra gear they needed to win it in OT.
