Lost in all the excitement

Any word how Corey Partridge is?

Spart?

We need him back on the field if we want to win the MAC...he'd be a huge loss if he's out for any amount of time. Watching at a bar I never heard what was wrong (if they even had any updates). I don't think he ever came back on the field though, did he?

I have been nervously wondering the same thing. I went to take a leak in the bar last night, I come back and Corey is limping down the sidelines. I had a hard time enjoying the game for a while after that, I must say.

I really hope everything is OK with him. He's a great kid and he is a heck of a lot of fun to watch grab footballs.

Brandon said he wasn't concerned with his injury last night. CP was in the final drive of the game last night, and the x-rays came back negative.

Probably just a sprain.

He sprained his ankle. He should be fine within a week. At least I was when I sprained mine and we all know CP is the God of healing quickly!

Technically, CP did play during the last drive...all he did, however, was hold the game tying field goal. If it's just a sprain, he'll be fine and I hope that's all it is.

Yes, Corey had a Minnesota player roll on his ankle on the punt return. The player rolled up on it from the outside. X-rays negative, its a sprain, but a bad enough one that he didn't play after that. No sense risking injurying the ankle more by trying to play and risk losing him for the MAC portion of the schedule.

He did go in and hold for extra points and field goals, but that was it. I hope they can get it well enough to go next Saturday. Coach told me he would be fine and Corey didn't give me any reason to think he wouldn't be.

That's great news! The last thing we need after getting off to a great start to the season is to be without one of our best players. I simply love watching that kid play. It's like if he can touch the ball, he catches it.

Great news indeed. :D

I'd imagine CP's going to be stuck in the training pool for the next 3 days and attempt to go on Thursday. In the grand scheme of things, this game on Saturday doesn't mean a whole lot to our players and their season. #1 goal should be a MAC Championship.

Corey Partridge is a great football player. And a great leader. I happened to be in a spot in the Metrodome to watch Corey's reactions throughout the game from his catches, returns, reaction to other's plays etc

After Freddie Barnes caught the winning two pointer all the players piled into the end zone, of course, and Corey (smartly protecting his ankle) was the only player standing at the edge of the sideline. The emotion in his face and eyes was just a wonderful moment to see and I will not soon forget it.

Yes, our holder (CP) and our kicker (SV) made a tremendous play under incredible stress. Add in our snapper.

Go Falcons!

As long as it is not a high ankle sprain, CP should be ok. I think that's what hurt FB so much last year cuz those high ankle sprains suck and take a few weeks to heal. I know cuz I've had a couple over the years...very painful.

Spart,
Thanks for the update! I did get to see the 2nd half and only caught bits and pieces on the radio in the first half. Hearing Todd Walker say "BG up 21-0" was too much.
