Game balls...

Yo gang...not quite 24 hours later and I'm still jumping around. I thought it would be cool to award game balls here on the site. There were so many BiG plays last night and BiG performances. If I had 3 game balls to award, this is who would get them...

1) Tyler Sheehan. What else can ya say? 34-51 for 388 yards, 2 TD's passing and 1 rec. and NO Int's. He was poised, calm and confident. Sheehan wasn't merely good, he was great. He distributed the ball to EIGHT different receivers. EIGHT. I know it's only one game but this could be a very explosive offense again. Pick your poison. I'll bet Tyler's grandmother, Edna, is smiling ear to ear today. :D

2) Coaching Staff...from the top man, GB, down the line. The playcalling was great, over 500 freakin yards of offense. This team was well prepared and ready to play. Even after MN made their BiG charge to take the lead, the staff directed the players and marched right down the field to tie the game. GB laid his on the line last night and came thru with flying colors. Coach Bird had the ST's ready and they looked 200% better than anytime last year.

3) John Haneline. Haneline was all over the field last night making 15 total tackles, 10 solo, and was involved in one TFL. Dozier usually gets more press but Haneline is developing into a solid LB.

What does everyone else think?

GO FALCONS!!! BEAT SPARTY!!!

I'd add Freddie Barnes to that list, he was huge on that final drive, getting open numerous times and making the key 4th down catch and obviously the 2-pointer.

I couldn't agree more Freak, although I'd make a case for Briggs for one of those game balls. He was everywhere. 15 tkls for Hanline? Thats amazing. He's really come into his own here and its bout time. :)

How many balls can we give out.

Freddie Barnes, Tyler Sheehan, Eric Ransom, Anthony Turner, Marques Parks, Corey Partridge.

If i have to do O, D and ST then

O: Sheehan, although Ransom is a close second
D: Haneline, 15 tackles are 15 tackles
ST: Vrivilo hit a FG that tied it to take us into OT

I think you're only supposed to give out 1 per game. But when you beat a Big Ten team on the road, then you get to have 3 or more haha!

Just based on my thoughts during the game (from Gametracker and watching the 2nd half) my 3 would go to Tyler Sheehan, Freddie Barnes and Eric Ransom, although after reading the stats, Haneline definitely deserves a nod. What a game.

Yea I thought this would be a thread about Gregg Brandon's brave playcalling....

1) Tyler Sheehan: A return to what BG's known for.
2) Freddie Barnes: Clutch. No other word for it.
3) John Haneline: Playing like a man possessed against an oversized o-line for Minny.

Brandon doesn't get a game ball till he brings us a win against the Toledo Sports Book and a MAC championship (but he did kick some Gopher ass yesterday).

The problem with Brandon is that despite the win, he has not shown that he can gameplan for the second half. Their just don't seem to be any adjustments. He does seem to have recruited well.
