Update on future non-conference opponents

Some of these games I have heard about already, but it looks like we have games with Wyoming, Boise State, Idaho, Marshall, Troy and Western Kentucky coming up in the near future. I don't mind seeing some of these teams on the schedule and I'm glad to see GC answer the question with actual names of schools that we are in the works with. I always like being up to speed with our future non-conference opponents. I also like playing one game a year against a team from outside of the region. I keep waiting the see a possible home-and-home with New Mexico surface now that Krebs is out there. Anyway, for those who may have missed it, this was mentioned in the most recent Ask the AD:

Q: Does the football team plan on playing any teams from the west coast in the near future? I think matchups with the MWC and WAC could be beneficial for BGSU.
Ryan in Bowling Green

A: Looking west, we have games with Wyoming, Boise State and Idaho in the coming years. From the other two non-BCS conferences (C-USA and Sun Belt), we have future series with Marshall, Troy and Western Kentucky.

Has anyone heard anything about the return game @ Pitt? I think next year or the year after with what BG will have back and the freshman class Pitt has that would be a very good game.

Game notes for both the Minnesota and Michigan State games list future non-conference opponents, and have us playing at Pitt to open the season next year

The Troy game is interesting, not a common name seen on schedules. Good program, should be a good series.

As for Marshall, any chance to rub their faces in our new turf is a good thing.

Here is what is listed for BG over the next two years. I really like the looks of these games. Of course, as we all know all too well, these future schedules can change like the weather.

2008
August 30 - @ Pittsburgh
Sept. 6 - MINNESOTA
Sept. 20 - @ Wyoming
Oct. 4 - @ Boise State

2009
Sept. 3 - TROY
Sept. 12 - @ Missouri
Sept. 26 - @ Marshall
Oct. 3 - WYOMING

THe use of a "michigan game" joke in this thread should be grounds for getting a pen jammed into your eye

Ok, I'm sure I missed something here. Why do we go back to Boise next year when they were supposed to come here this year? Also, check this site out...

It has us playing at Navy next year instead of at home with Troy. Who knows what we will have after the MAC Commissioners office gets a hold of our schedule.

Also, I saw that someone mentioned New Mexico State (Kreb's new school) and BG playing in the future. Not sure if that's on tap or not, but they're taking the big pay day and playing Ohio State in 2009.

Future schedules at Bowling Green are about as reliable as a $5 hooker.
