That would be sweet! Considering I live in Bham. Of course, the Mobile GMAC Bowl would be good too.

That would be great if it actually happend. I could convince my station to send me to cover ECU, but I'd be cheering (on the inside) for the falcons. I have a feeling it won't happen. I keep hearing something about Rose Bowl
?

I don't recognize the name of this bowl. Is it new or did it change names? Thanks.

ESPN's bowl guru's don't even have us listed for anything...just Kent, Ball State, CMU and Ohio U. But we'll show them!

Their picks change every week. Since they don't follow the MAC, they probably pick names out of a hat.

The PapaJohns Bowl is only one year old. Birmingham used to have a regular bowl game in the 80's called the All-American Bowl. But Birmingham doesn't always have great weather in December. It can be in the 20's or 30's a night sometimes.
Mobile, AL is 250 miles further south. It's usually pretty warm in December for the GMAC Bowl but the only time BG played there it rained cats and dogs. (Note: it didn't bother Omar)
I guess I'm just hoping to see a game this year.

Or pull it out of something a little lower...

I would be happy with going to any bowl game. I would prefer the Motor City Bowl because we could send a lot of people up there, more than going to Alabama. Also would cut down on travel costs for us poor college students. Oh and if we go there, then we probably won the MAC Championship. I pretty much just stated the obvious for everyone.

You are right. We had a big crowd up there in 2003.
I'll tell you what, though: Mobile was a *lot* of fun. It's just a great experience. The parade and festivities the night before were great. It's not that big a town, so they definitely seem to appreciate the visitors.
Our most likely options are Detroit, Mobile or Toronto (home of the new International Bowl). Any of them would work for me, as would anywhere else.
After last season, I think most of us are where you are: We just want to be in the post season, and we aren't picky about where.

in 2006 64 of the 119 D1a schools will played in bowl games. That is real near 54%
The MAC is contracted to provide a team for three college football bowl games, the GMAC Bowl, Motor City Bowl and International Bowl. In the event that a Big East team cannot be provided for the newly created Papajohns.com Bowl, a fourth MAC team is selected.
This of course does not count if MAC can fill obligations of other non 500 teams.
there are in the end and this an opionion shared by many but not all, FAR TO MANY BOWL games. Aside from repairing the whole thing and making a playoff system for all Conference Champions. the next best mesure would be to reward those team the finish with no fewer than 8 victories on the season.

And, of course, against DI-A opponents only.

Y'all are just wasting your time wondering about bowl projections.

Seems this OUBOBCATJOHN knew back on September 11 how the bowl bids will play out.
To think of all of the time you are wasting even thinking about bowl scenarios.
