Anyone else watching this? Akron down by two td's with just over 2mins left scores, gets the onside, and scores again. Tied it up with 45 secs left.

Akron forces a Stan Hill fumble with 6 seconds left around the 25. They recover and kick the field goal for the win, 31-28.
There you go Miami fans

It wasn't a Stan Hill fumble, the punter fumbled the snap. All he had to do was kick it and you're in OT. Great game. Very exciting. How does the rest of the East schedule shape up. Did Miami beat Akron?

Ah, yes, sorry about the miss on the details. I was browsing and watching at the same time. Oops. A great comeback win for Akron either way it happened.

Unbelievable! I missed the game because I had to work a soccer game. The score was 28-7 Marshall last time I checked. What a comeback. I don't know if I should be happy (aside from Marshall losing) or sad though in terms of what this does or may do for BG? Aside from bowl ramifications for BG, it's great to see Marshall lose. But to think of the chances of Akron playing in the MACC, ugh, that doesn't look good for the conference. The Zips will earn it if they win out, so the deserve to go if they do it, but to think of Akron playing in front of two of three teams in BG, NIU or UT is painful. Nice job though, Zips.

No one should miss the look that Pruett gave that punter as he ran off the field. That punter got as far away as fast as he could.

Oh yeah, and to answer your question, Miami and Akron have not played yet. They play each other in their last game of the season, so for now, it looks like the showdown is set.

Man!!! We left the Rubber Bowl with 6 min left in the 3rd and Akron trailing 28-7...cuz the boys were cold and tired.
I thought to myself "Well I can watch the rest of the game on TV". I simply cannot believe what I just saw!! LOL!!! Marshall choked big time.
Congrats to Frye and the Zips for fighting til the end. Charlie is a fine QB and it was a great crowd tonight...I'd say at least 27K.
Tell ya what....BG oughta kick Marshall's ass by 5 TD's next week.
GO FALCONS!!! BEAT WMU!!

Mike -- You left early? If you were an Akron U. fan I would say "shame on you" (LOL). Since you're not, you're allowed to leave early! I just checked out the box score and it said they had 29,000 and change. Great crowd for the Zips although it appeared that many of them left when Marshall had the two TD lead in the 4th quarter. Akron actually controls their own destiny now, but they have two tough games left. I was checking out their schedule to gage their chances of being the MAC East rep in the MAC Title Game. They go down to Ohio on 11/13, then they finish up at home against Miami on 11/20 ... not exactly a walk in the park, but they have to be pleased with where they are at this point. We need to just win out and let the chips fall where they may. I would like to think that even if we don't get to the MAC Title Game, we may be able to get a bowl bid if we run the table and finish 9-2. Let's take care of Western tomorrow (let's score early and often), and rest our starters for the Marshall game on 11/13. After snatching defeat from the jaws of victory earlier tonight, we're probably going to see a hungry Marshall squad. Here's hoping we keep them hungry! I sure hope we can get 29,000 for our game against Marshall. I'm not holding my breath about having a decent crowd tomorrow against Western Michigan. They're struggling this year. GO BG!

In front of NIU, yes.
In front of BG, most likely yes.
In front of Toledo? Hmmm... Toledo still has two hurdles to clear to prove they aren't a total bust. If they lose to NIU and BG, I don't see how they can be considered a success at all. Much like if we were to lose to Marshall (don't see it happening, really) and Toledo (could see it happening, but it doesn't look like it will), our season would be a waste, even with all the 30 or 40 point beatings we've handed out. Sure, there are individual successes, but team wise, beating everyone but the tough teams on your schedule gets you no pity from me, even if it was Buffalo going to the MACC.

I replayed it over and over to try to read his lips. From what I could tell it was something like "you cost us the game".
it would suck to be that kid, but could not have happened to a better team.
Marshall gave Akron a huge gift. Frye is for real, but Marshall just plain blew it with all the miss opportunities. Three dropped passes and one fumble in the end zone.
I think I am going to TIVO this game when the replay it tonight.
Two words for Marshall: HA HA.

ok, I like Charlie Frye and Akron but why not run that offense we saw in the 4th quarter some more? Frye looked aquedate at best until then. marshall has one of the best MAC defenses and they couldn't stop the zips when they were all pass. Very nice win by Akron today. It shows a lot of character to come from behind like that. ....Marshall sucks we should blow them out like every other MAC team we have blownout over the past 5 weeks.

Stan Hill throws for 400+ and his defense and special teams collapse and hand him a loss?
Hmmm... I'll set 2-to-1 odds that fast food managers in Huntington are boarding up their drive-thru windows like a hurricane was coming about now... *laugh*
