Ok the catch Akron had at the end of the game to tie it up, i had flashbacks of Sharon cathing that pass at Ross ade. What was it fourth and 14 on the 35. I was thinking no way in hell. Then I saw a catch I will never forget. ...This catch here was similar. total desperation

No doubt Kdog....that Akron kid just got his one foot in the back of the end zone. Unbelievable.

I loved it! I don't have a problem seeing Marshall go down. Akron really showed some heart, although if the punter catches the ball cleanly and gets the ball off, it goes into OT. Still, Akron made plays at the end and really took it away from Marshall. The looks on Pruett's face were priceless. I would love to see Marshall leave the MAC and not even play in the last MAC Title Game.

Hey man, I'll never forget Chuck coming down with that catch. I can still picture it perfectly. The ref took forever to signal it a td. I have never heard 55,000 people so quiet. I remember I told my ex girlfriend "I told you so" because the night before she had been saying how there was no way we would win. The drive back was faster than the drive there, which is rare.

I actually couldn't believe they would do something as risky as a punt. Their third down play did not ring enough time off the clock, otherwise they should have guned for the endzone and let time expire. Given the 12 seconds on the clock, I thought they might pull something like what we did at Purdue when we put Cole in "punt formation". hehe

Problem there is 12 seconds is ALOT of time to run around. If he gets tackled inside the 30-35 yard line, its FG time for Akron anyway. BG had the luxury of a little less time (I believe) on the clock, and the ability to give up two points with a safety and still win the game. If Marshall gives up a safety there, Akron doesn't even need to kick a FG. If they get the punt off (and honestly, how many times do you really see a snap botched THAT bad?), all they have to do is tackle the return man and Akron is likely in "take a knee and try in OT" territory at best.

Right play, wrong execution.
