Over 20K... that's HUGE! Damn near a sellout!

It wasn't quite near a sellout but it apparently it was just over 20k which is always good. The east side stands had plenty of seats open. At least the trend is on an upward slope. :)

IIRC, this is our first 20,000+ crowd since the SEMO game in 2004.

Wow that is amazing. I'm really starting to sense that feeling of change around this team, and for the better. If we keep winning I don't see why the crowd can't continue to be this great for the rest of our home games!

You know, the East side of the stands didn't look that much more full than last week. I figured maybe 18K today, but if it was up over 20, that's great. This would have to be the first time I was off on an attendance prediction on the low end, which is good.

The West side was PACKED. You couldn't find an empty seat there from the middle of the 1st quarter on through halftime.

I believe that the Toledo crowd from 2005 broke the 20,000 barrier, but it has been a sight for sore eyes to see the stands full. It will only help the team going forward.

Nope...Toledo in 2005 and Marshall in 2004 were both under 20,000

I sit on the east side and it was fuller this week because I got way fewer
Tootsie Rolls.

I just wanted to concur. I'm an east sider. The west side didn't look much fuller (maybe a bit), but the east side definitely seemed fuller. It wasn't packed, of course. It rarely is, and that's a big reason I like the east side.

It was a good crowd, and I was shocked how early the parking lot filled up. A friend was going to meet us there about 5, and they wouldn't let him in the parking lot. Instead, they sent him to the ice arena parking lot.

I was in the student's section, partway up the stadium, and I was quite impressed by the attendance. But, at the same time, I was very disappointed in the lack of people staying for the game. Some of the people around us were leaving before halftime, and many others were leaving just after halftime. The conversations of people traveling down the stairs beside me were along the lines that OSU was about to start. THEY'RE PLAYING NORTHWESTERN!!! WHO DIDN'T THINK THEY WOULD WIN?

I'm sorry, but that part is very disappointing. The game wasn't well in hand until almost the end of the 3rd, yet people on both sides of the stadium were leaving after it was 24-7 early in the 3rd. Also, what's with the weird looks when I tried to cheer on the team when our defense has a big 3rd down stop coming up. Man, some people don't know what it's like to cheer.

However, I do feel bad for some of the people sitting on the other side of the steps from me. An elderly couple that had brought what appeared to be their two granddaughters were all wearing alumni bracelets, so I'm assuming that grandpa had something to do with the alumni band. Well, students, sitting in the wrong section, were standing up the entire game directly in front of them, and with no reason to stand. Nobody else in that section anywhere near them was standing, so they could have seen the game by sitting. This couple eventually either moved or left, but it's a shame that some students are inconsiderate enough that they can't either stay in the student's section or by coureous to the people around them. Now, in my section, we were standing the entire time, and that's perfectly fine with me.

actually Minnesota was OSU's opponent

for for those students standing in the wrong place, event staff needs to take care of that during the entire game, their on students in the wrong section before the game, but once the game starts its like they don't care anymore
